They really are quite nice, personally I would go for the updated automatic, don't know which testicle I would have to sell to achieve the aim but I suspect my wife would say both and I would still not end up with a watch,

I think they clearly captured the original vintage watch and going forward I would expect values to reflect the dedication to authenticity plus I really like the bracelet options offered.

This Nivada bracelet fits my chronometers case so well that I actually wonder if they ever was produced for this model?

I really like that bracelet and the end links fit perfectly. So, is the Wittnauer 7004 the CASD's ugly red-headed (er, bezeled) sibling?

I have been revisiting this thread for the better part of a year, using it keep my hope up on finding on and as a reference, and I can finally participate in it.

Bought this hoping what the sellers images shown was high amount of dust and not dial degradation. Straight out of the box- yup, that’s a lot of dust 👍

My this dial is gorgeous 👍👍

Cleaned the abundance of dust inside the crystal and gave it a light polish 👍👍👍

Quick wrist shot before sending it off to my watch maker.

Congrats on finding a fine example. Bravo!

It must have been a bit of a “nail biter” between making the purchase decision - with that dust visible- and then have the dial appear so nice after uncasing.

do you plan to have your WM stabilize any lume?

Thank you 😀 And just to show the original sellers image to show how much dust was visible and how much of it made it seem like the dial texture was very rough/possibly damaged

And yes, I plan on talking with him about stabilizing the hour and minute hands. Under strong loupe the dial lume looks intact but he uses a much stronger microscope to verify this and I will leave that to his discretion 😀

I was wearing my Venus 170 Croton yesterday. Interesting I was looking up Croton this morning as someone asked me what sort of watch I was wearing. Nice to see Croton trending here on OF as well. This is a small watch, and definatly not a diver.

Hello OF CASD lovers!

I would like to know if this variant is included in Chronomaster only book and if yes I would like a picture of the page so I can have a look and save it till I find and buy the book!

Thanks a lot in advance!

thanks for your input!

curious why not though, cause it is a CASD 😕
“The Chronomaster evolved at the end of the 1960s, especially in the shape of its caseband and in the addition of such new indications as dates or a third subdial.
These new models are not described in this publication which is devoted entirely to the first generations of watches, in other words those that conform to the original model of 1961 with a round caseband, straight lugs, a dial with two subdials and without dates.”

This is the only page that shows a similar reference to which you are asking about. As you can see, it’s just a copy of an ad that was published during that time and not a detailed break down.
