    Hi all,

The authors of the famous MWO will launch their new watch book on the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver (CASD)
What the community think about this watch? This book?

Personnally, I liked this watch at the first sight! Nice 38mm faceted case, rotating bezel, some famous movement inside (Venus 210, Valjoux 92 which is one of my favorite, and of course the Valjoux 23).

The fact is there are so many dials and hands combination (except the 1st execution) that it's easy to get confused about the conformity : broad arrow hands, stick hands, alpha sub hands, straight sub hands, lollipop sweep second etc. I believe the book will help to get it more clear.

I owned a late execution with Valjoux 23, lollipop, stick hands and quickly she went off my wirst due to the fact I always prefered my Speedmaster (and sold here to a member last year). But recently (and fortunately before the annoucement of the book) I bought (and incoming) a 1st execution with arrow hands and alpha subhands which was my favorite CASD combo.

Well please post your CASD (Nivada, Croton, Austin etc)!!

I own 3 Nivadas. Personally,I feel Nivada is the new UG. I think the CASD is popular now and that popularity will carry over to the Antarctic line too

I think it is absolute hideous. To my eyes, the proportions of the different elements look completely off - it just looks cheap and unbalanced.

I realise that the market think otherwise :)

UG is still underated to me. Except high end brand who propose a stunning microrotor movement ? ;)

All opinions are welcome !! The 29 mm dial surrounded by a large bezel may give that unbalanced look. The first execution is the one I like, probably due to the broad arrow hands (I definitely can’t afford a 2915!!) and only steel hands with no color.

As I said the first CASD I owned wasn’t often on my wirst. We will see with this one.

The plus of this watch is (was?) the affordable price for a decent sport chronograph which are less and less at reasonable prices, according to me of course.

The market will probably overeact after the book releasing announcement...

I also really like the earlier ones. The book will be a huge help to collectors because of the overwhelming number of dial variations plus all the movements. I had this one and sold it last year, would love another someday:

The book will be definitely helpful !
That’s exactly the same model that I have bought last week

    And the:

    - cheap looking, oddly sized hands that seem to have been taken from a second-rate skin diver.
    - cheap, fussy bezel coming from that same skin diver.
    - small subdials (why 5-4-3-2-1 on that minutes dial? it only makes it worse).
    - dial tachymeter that only serves to accentuate the issues with the proportions...

Have a Croton in the project drawer but it’s not a CASD, although I guess it shares the same case. This one has a Valjoux 7736 inside.

I have always thought because of all the variations that it was a parts bin watch.
