Hi everyone,
While researching the history of Croton Watch Company, I came across two different explanations for the origin of the company's name.
Some sources suggest that "Croton" was inspired by Crotone, Italy, while others imply it was named after the village of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, where the company later had a presence.
Has anyone ever found any contemporary documentation (advertisements, company literature, newspaper articles, etc.) that clearly explains which story is correct?
I'd be very interested in any primary sources rather than later retellings.
Thanks in advance!
