Thought the black looks great. Seen the white, looks abit sterile to me. 😀

i own the black one. has great presence on wrist and i feel it's easier to pair of different clothing sets.

Another vote for the black dial. I do not like the orange luminous indexes in the white version at all. Not a big fan of the green crystal version either. I own a black dialed one since 2008. It's a great watch, you won't be disappointed.

Have you considered the blue dial? I know it still has green crystal but the blue dial is gorgeous. If it is only between black and white I think I would go white.

I prefer the white dial, but the black is still a great choice. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Guess I'm a minority here but I vote white.
But I may be a bit bias.
Not because I own one but because I want one (or an E2) lol.

I was trying to make the same choice a few years ago. Ended up buying an Explorer I. Very happy with it.

But if Milgauss, I would get the black.

Thanks all for the responses, have tried both on at an AD, it's interesting because I definitely prefer how the black dial looks in photos and close up, but on the wrist I find the white is actually more interesting

Some photos below on my wrist, I think I would like the black dial if it was a darker glossy black rather than the dark grey it is, and I love the white on the steel. It is a close one though!

Another negative that applies to both is they look pretty bad with scratched up bezels, but the white probably worse from what I've handled

Ok well what other watches do you own?
Or rather, what dials do you have on your other watches?
This could be your chance to get something a bit different, something that stands out in your collection.
Both look good, but think about the big picture.
When are you most likely going to wear the watch? In what environments?
Do you need/want something that will "pop" a bit more? Or do you want something that will blend in a little better?
Will you be wanting to change from the bracelet to a strap to time to time? If so, what straps?
And do you already have some that would look better on one than the other? Are there any you want that would make a good combo with the watch that you would choose?
These are just questions I would be asking myself, but as always, at the end of the day, it's all up to you.

For what it’s worth the white face has supposedly been discontinued so if you could go either direction I’d go with the white since it’ll increase in value more than the black. Even though you say you’ll keep it forever that probably won’t be the case and if the white is worth 25% more you’ll be glad you went with that. Again assuming it’s a coin toss for you

To my understanding both these configurations are discontinued, at the same time? So probably of equal rarity!
