This is what it looked like on Ebay when I bid (of course I was the only one and I got it for a pittance):

Below is what arrived this morning.
Turns out a crappy piece of tape was holding the crystal, which is loose and had old tape glue all over it.
The watch sets and winds but does not run. I hope it can be repaired.

Sorry, the I phone pics aren't so good --what a pretty dial though.

It's the tiniest of watches.

Comparison with a similarly styled Longines:

Sizes!! Even the micro six-notch Longines looks big in comparison!

I thought this watch deserved to be saved if at all possible….
impatiently waiting for watchmakers to return from vacation and get it looked at.
If anyone knows anything about tiny UG calibers of that era, I'm a taker.

I have the same disease. 😀
It's why all of my watches are worth less than the cost to service them...

I think those micro watches would benefit from the Buzz Aldrin treatment of two per band. Or maybe a charm bracelet?

Great idea !
I actually thought it could be interesting to have a double wrap strap designed especially for them --and connecting the two micro sei-tacche next to one another. With those lugs it seems a bit tougher to pull off.

Thankfully it's only been once so far... But if this becomes twice then there's a risk it might happen again... 🙄

Thanks for the lovely compliment @alam, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it can be fixed at a reasonable cost.

Looks to be in pretty good shape. Very nice. You have an eye for these it seems. I'd be shocked of this was beyond saving.

Thanks Larry, actually I'm in a bit of a quandary with this one.
Iit was sold as running but needing repair on the hairspring.
That sounded manageable but in fact it arrived non running.
Also it turns out the case is chrome plated, and the plating is starting to lift on one edge near the crown, even though it still seems pretty solid. The photos show it but you've got to look very closely to notice.

Wondering whether I should make a Paypal claim as the seller doesn't accept returns.

I avoid plated watches for that reason. If it was misrepresented I'd give a claim a try. if all else fails get it running and just wear it. It totally fits in your collection. Still a cheap watch right? (Even with a movement service) I wonder if your watchmaker could stabilize peeling plating. Crazy glue?

It was misdescribed as running.
The chrome plate thing wasn't misrepresented, the seller just said look at the photos, that one was a bit dark and as a matter of fact I didn't even notice when the watch arrived. The watch was very cheap indeed, to be honest I took the punt without verifying it was steel. I would never have done that with a more expensive watch.

Negotiate for partial refund? With a claim, do you have to return watch for full refund or does it allow for settlements between buyer/seller?

I don't know how that Paypal thing works, have to find out. Not sure it's even worth my time arguing over it with someone, even though I dislike the waste.
