Regarding your friend with the small wrist and the result pictured above...I believe he mounted the Speedy near the middle of the strap...

...which can result in this...

Instead, mount the Speedy near the buckle...

...which should result in this...

Thanks Mad Dog, I’ll pass that along. I haven’t seen the strap in person yet.

What is MSRP on the Velcro strap?

It's $160 in the US, plus applicable sales tax (6% here in PA) and 2-day shipping is included, had to order it online to get the full kit, apparently in the Boutiques it's band only, not sure, didn't call one, just called Omega in Fla to check availability, then ordered online. It may be somewhat tacky, BUT, anything that's specific for the Speedmaster, I'm kinda all in for.(hey, I've got the paperweight from the huge box on my desk!!) I would imagine this is a "Limited Issue" item, perhaps this anniversary year only?

It was 125 GBP... not sure about USD; I understand it's not available in the States yet.
I saw it over the weekend it goes for $160 USD.

Based on the reviews here I ordered this strap off the Omega website and it just came today.....the kit is impressive, red zippered case which included the high quality strap, 3 new springbars and an Omega branded spring bar tool. Some buyers didn't get the tool it seems, but mine included it. Don't know why the discrepancy. The case could be useable as a travel case or storage for tools, straps, and other what nots.

I was just playing around with the strap, you have to do some trial-and-error positioning of the watch head on the strap so that it gives you the best fit and presentation. I find if you position the watch close to the 'Omega' label it will give you a pretty good fit, but it is very flexible. I'm not a huge fan of branding on personal items, but I'll make an exception for the Speedmaster.

Mine came yesterday, strap, case, lots of paperwork, no springbars or tool, called Omega, apparently they will be sending them out. The black foam inserts in the red case look to be cut for them. Hopefully I'll get them. Looks like the packaging cost as much as the strap, a little overkill, but, apparently typically Omega. I'll post if the springbars & tool arrive.

The new strap looks like it uses the same materials and style as the Alaska Project LE strap.

I had a few of these a couple years ago and they are indeed very, very nice. Great decision by the gents to get it out to a wider audience.

Don’t forget about the kizzi option. Feels really great and for me is a bit more of a looker than the omega offering.

Can't do links on the tablet, just go to the US Omega site, type "Speedmaster Velcro Nato" in the search, it'll pop up

I ordered mine a few days ago, and I received it today. Pretty fast, and the free shipping was a bonus. Strap quality is great and fits real nice.

I think I got gypped a little, however. I got the case and felt pad, but no strap changing tool. Has this happened to any other US buyers?

Yep, me too, no extra springbars, no tool. Called them to let them know, they said "They would get back to me", so far.........crickets!

Crickets stopped! As noted in another post, Omega sent me another complete kit (everything except the strap) Classy company, excellent follow-up. I'm impressed!

This looks awesome, I'll be ordering one on omega's website. It looks like only online orders get the springbar tool:

"Online only: Complimentary NATO strap tool kit included"

It's the Kizzi, about $70 US, see link in previous text. The Omega NATO is, yes, aggressively priced, but it is excellent quality.

I also ordered the strap, it also came without the spring bars and tool. I called Omega and they said there was a mix up in shipping and a group of these were sent w/o the extras. They said they were waiting to hear from those who received their strap w/o the extras, then they would send them the extras. I received a second kit (w/o the strap) with the extras within 2 business days.

Same thing here, just received a full kit/case today by FedEx. Got the extra springbars, tool, everything to go w ith the strap, including another red zipper case. Omega is a class company, this was a very nice way to reinforce a sale.

Arise Old post (that was responsible for me buying this strap)!!

I got the strap today. This strap came from Swatch Group Parts directly as they are the only one that had it in stock (Omega themselves did not have it and was on back order). Surprisingly the strap came not sealed in a plastic vacuum pack (like my Longines band ) and came in the same white box and red pouch with the extra spring bars(19mm and 20mm) and spring bar tool as if i got it right from Omega.com

My one question is this: which position do you mount the watch? Do you mount it so that the Omega name and symbol are at the 12 o'clock side

Or do you mount it so the Omega name and symbol are at the 6 o'clock side?

Thanks

My preferred orientation is to have the 'Omega' on the 6 o'clock side which then puts the large 'Speedmaster Moonwatch' words right side up when you turn your wrist over if you wear the watch on your LEFT wrist (see my post further up the page). If you wear it on right wrist the words will be inverted, so you'll have to choose which works best for you. No rule you have to do it any particular way. Play around with it and see which works best for your wrist.

Thanks for the reply. I happen to be both left handed (the hand I write with) and wear my watch on the left hand. I did notice the upside down Speedmaster wording. I now have it were the Omega wording is on the 6 o 'clock side.
I will see how annoying the metal ring is at 6 o'clock during a days worth of wearing. The ring discomfort would be worse then an upside down speedmaster wording

6 o’clock, personally. I don’t even notice the metal loop.
