Just ignore the exaggerated claims. What is the asking price?

It ain't NOS but it is in better shape than many. As long as the price is less than, yanking a number out my ass, $1200, and you like it, feel free. Only YOU know what it is worth to you.

$2,300 CDN
That is a bit high. But you are in charge. If this is a piece you will love and cherish for the rest of your life, and that's more than the next five years, then perhaps it might be worth it to you. Loss of plating on the movement might be indicative of an issue, or no more than a watchmaker using the wrong cleaning solution.

Others will share an opinion too, and pay attention to them. Consider for a while. And if it sells (which it won't) before then, you can always find another.

Hands have also been relumed. It’s not unusual to have some color difference between hands and dial lume, but these hands are white- dial lume is the appropriate yellow. It would bother me and I would have to have them relumed to match the dial lume.
I also think this is too expensive by a factor of 2x. Does the seller say if it has been serviced? Even if this were truly New Old Stock, that would mean it has sat for 50 years and all the oils/grease have turned to tar. It would need a full service before I even attempted to wear it.

That's a common watch that is worth $1000 Canadian paso,s in better condition.

$700 I would buy it.

NOS my arse.
In addition to the other points mentioned, the rotor bushing/axle are or were worn allowing the rotor to rub on the main plate, most noticable around the stem area. If this hasn't been rectified it can get expensive, on top of an already expensive watch.

Dang, am I the only one that thinks the minute marks are out of alignment in a few spots (even taking into account distortion from the angle of the photo)? And that the AUTOMATIC font looks off? I would definitely want a better close-up photo or two of the dial from straight on, and with no hands covering the text.

Thank you!!! I was bothered by the automatic font and the fact that the dial is so white and the date wheel cream- as in very aged.

This is listed on Chrono24 by a seller with excellent reviews so I assumed that it was " real". Any suggestions on a reputable dealer / place to buy please ? I am not looking for a bargain , but reputable quality. Thanks again for saving me from this purchase.

Did you find anything in the private watch sales here that got your interest?

Check the private watch sales here. They come up regularly and at reasonable prices. All watches for sale here are under member scrutiny, so shady watches never make it.
Even though you are new here, you can PM any seller- you don’t need 200 posts to make a private inquiry.

Sorry for the noob question : how can I search for sales ? In the forums themselves. Thanks.
