Hi, as I have very little knowledge on this model, I am looking for opinions on this watch. It looks interesting and unmolested.
Especially, I am wondering if the dial is original.
The watch is on auction locally and the starting price is 3k €. There is a reserve price and 0 bid for now.
I haven't seen it in the flesh and only have these screen shots.
Thank you for your help and have a nice day.
Mounir

I'd expect a red date pointer, and I'm not sure about the huge central boss of the hour recorder, but the case looks great and at E3k, you can't go far wrong.

Do keep in mind that there's a reserve price, so no, it won't go for 3k even if you are the only bidder (which is unlikely).

I have no idea what this would be "worth" - of course, whatever the market will bear - so maybe someone here has an idea what the OP should expect?

It's a presentation watch (given to an employee for 25 years of working at his company), that may somewhat affect the value negatively. Some collectors don't like them for whatever reason (I do, because these are often just put aside and almost never worn by the recipient).

Hi, guys I just realise I totally forgot I wrote this thread.
Thank you all for your opinions !
I also totally forgot about the watch actually and never went to see it in the flesh.
The auction is ending in 2 days and 2 hours and there is now 1 bid with the reserve price not met.
I have no more information than what is displayed here.
Kind regards.
Mounir

Look to see grooves in the registers to help determine originality of the dial.
That's exactly what led me here, I can't see them.

Thought the same from comparing to other Tri-Compax on the net.

where's the case reference? On the inside case back?
In the sale listing they mention the reference :
"Montre-bracelet pour homme en or jaune 18 carats, Universal Geneva, Tri Compax, 12295"

Just out of curiosity, how much did it go for and now that the auction is over, can you provide the link?

Don’t know if the dial is oriiginal, but it’s got a great inscription at the back. For those who didn’t pick up on it, the original owner was offered the watch after « 25 years of faithful service at « United balance manufactures Co. » If he got the watch redialed he sure knew where to go for a nice job.

so it ended for somewhere around 4K eur, normally no buyer costs at finshop. Not exactly bargain territory, but on the cheap side I would say?

mind you, this is the webshop of our beloved government where they sell impounded and seized goods. The saying goes that if you buy a car on their site, you might want to have it deep cleaned to get the blood out of the trunk ...

The stories some of these things could tell
