New (to me) Chocolate Speedmaster

This is a new arrival that I picked up at auction over the weekend. Not sure if this is new to OF or perhaps previously owned by another member. Happily, the dial has an attractive and noticeably brown color in person even in normal lighting, and it is dramatically brown outdoors. I was pleased to see this, as it's very hard for me to judge from photos how these brown dials will appear in hand. The movement is in the 2911xxxx brown-dial batch. I'm finding it quite appealing overall, which is a relief, since I had to bid against two other serious bidders based on pictures that weren't the greatest. 馃

It may need a new case-back gasket. 馃槈

Many thanks. I know some people just see these dials as degraded, but I like them.

That鈥檚 nice looking Dan. I usually fall into the degraded camp as you know, but this is incredibly subtle and even without the baby-poo color we mostly see. Plus the fact that the bezel, lume and the rest of the watch is so attractive- it makes it a nice package.

Nice ... yep it鈥檚 got a brown fade. Great condition.

I think the combination of the luminous material aging and dial is about as nice as a 69 can get. Probably one of my favorite examples of this reference.

Great looking all around. The bezel looks nearly new, and the lume patina looks great.

Looks beautiful, Dan. I鈥檓 partial to these dials, I wear mine all the time, and absolutely love the color and patina on yours. Wear it in good health.
