New (to me) 167.005 Omega Constellation

I have just received this watch that was purchased on a different watch forum.

Very happy with it on initial inspection. It seems to be keeping good time and is not over-polished on the lugs. The dial is also in very good condition for a watch that is 60 years old.

I will be sending it for a service shortly, likely to Simon Freese, and swapping the slightly worn Omega leather strap it came with for a plain black leather strap to use with the Omega buckle.

I am unlikely to use the metal bracelet which is a BOR 1037 marked with 570 marked end links. Any idea as to value on this?

Can you take a straight close-up photo of the dial. It might be a reprinted dial.

What makes you think that?

The “O” and “M” in Chronometer are relatively quite close to each other than usual.

Looks fine to me, doubt any redialers would refinish with a single T.

A “smart” and “skillful” redialer definitely would small detail makes big difference.

Nice watch. I'm a sucker for bracelets and I would wear it with the BoR.

As for value, here's a few from this forum: sold in 2023 serviced for $1250, sold in 2022 for $2250, sold in 2018 for $1750. There's other sold examples of this reference with a domed dial, but it's not a direct comparison.

I get the impression the OP was asking about bracelet value... "I am unlikely to use the metal bracelet which is a BOR 1037 marked with 570 marked end links. Any idea as to value on this?"

The bracelet is probably worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 USD.

Interesting points on whether this is a redial.

It doesn't look to me that it is, as there is some slight pitting on the dial, although hard to notice and the font seems to fall in line with genuine dial examples online.

Is there a way to find out if it is or not?

Pay attention to what the experts say. And don't ask the people who don't know. If you spend a few years on the forum, you will be able to distinguish one category from the other.

Thanks and yes happy to.

Is there a certain part of the dial? I took a straight close up photography above. Not sure I can get any closer having the full dial in the frame.

I have added another photo below of the dial.

It's the text people want examine. Move the hands and shoot in focus.

Personally I see no problem with it.

I want to see a close up on O and M, the 6 o'clock marker and the sunburst effect.

Do these photos help?

If this ends up being a redial I'll probably start quitting, looks great :)
