The L2L will be important. Many of the longines watches of a similar type have similar case diameters but the lugs are a smidge long. Let’s hope.
Would it be wrong to assume it'd have the same dimensions as the 522.52.39.21.04.001 linked above? The casebacks are different... but the case shape looks the same. Can't find information on the lug to lug of it though. Hoping its something 48mm or under as Orlis mentioned.

Wow! Please, please, make it a stainless steel and lug to lug below 48mm…
First, I have to correct my previous post. @issingsan does still have the wrist shot of the CK859 Re-Issue on his Instagram page. He also mentions that he has "puny girly wrist" and the L2L appears fine on his wrist shot. So, I believe we all should be happy with L2L!👍

In regards to your wish for stainless steel, the OP's initial post reveals stainless steel engraved on the lugs:

I like the vintage look. Hopefully it’s a 36mm vintage size.

I don't think they can fit that movement in a 36mm... Looks like a 39mm to me.

The original CK859 is 37.5mm and they will probably go a tad larger for the re-issue.

it is supposed to be 39mm….. I would have loved a 37.5mm case, like the original.

39mm seems ok, woulda liked smaller. Hope thickness is not too much, otherwise its off the table. Omega needs to take a chill pill on thicknesses..

My question is why this isn't listed as one of their 2022 novelties? No release date stated as of yet, but is this even a US-available release?

Omega Vegas wasn't so sure.

I'm not such a fan of all these bulked up re-releases from Omega's back catalogue, to me they are just trying to hoover up some of the € floating around in the vintage market and from my observations the re-releases seem actually to make the original refs less rather than more desirable.

But the point I wanted to make was that I really feel the strap making team at Omega need to wake up and get with what's going on, the 'vintage look' strap on this new 859 with the side stitching near the lugs is just so 2018 and neither period correct nor what is seen as an acceptable 'vintage look' in 2022

I tried it on today. A beautiful watch that will be sold as a numbered edition for around £5800. It feels great on the wrist and is the definition of vintage look. I do find the price a little steep particularly as it’s not a stainless bracelet.

Where'd you get the chance to try it on? And did it feel thick to you?

Man

I want one! My only reservation is the poor water resistance. Does anyone have pictures in profile? I'd love to get a better idea of the crystal contour.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Novelties event at Claridges yesterday and this watch was stunning. Apologies as it was the last watch I was shown and was so in awe I forgot to take any photos. It is very slim and, as I said, absolutely stunning!
It is so much better in the flesh as photos don’t do it justice. It looks brilliant on this strap too and in my very humble opinion (for what it’s worth) wouldn’t want it on a bracelet - (controversial comment now) I think it looks too classy to be on a bracelet.

Looks just right, they nailed it imo- my only gripe is the size, apparently it's a 40mm. Surely 36-38 would have been more appropriate?

It didn’t feel thick on the wrist at all. Super comfortable (bear in mind I only wore it for a minute tops). A really nice vintage looking piece.
