It looks great! In colors it's so close to Snoopy 3. But of course it is so different watch. I like it!

From the Fratello article, the bracelet tappers from 21 to 16 mm (where in the moonwatch it tappers from 20 to 15mm) so probably that mm will make the fit less than stellar. (Illy be more than happy if I'm wrong, I wear mine in the second micro adjustment hole and would be glad to switch to the new clasp)

Damn...you are right.....I thought the 3861 clasp was 16mm.....it's 15mm, I just measured it myself.....I guess we will have to wait for Omega to release one for our 3861 bracelets......hopefully they provide a little more adjustment than the 1/2 link they gave to the 21/16 bracelet on the Chronoscope.....damn....

I truly don’t get it. What did they try to achieve here?

Since the bracelet and and clasp on the 2021 Speedmaster are both 15mm, they line up flush with each other. Could a 16mm clasp fit just over/outside a 15mm bracelet like many other bracelet designs?

I was curious about prices so I went to look. Not a big hodinkee guy but I do read the articles and their pics are great. I do like the brown dial of course it’s bronze/gold and it’s 14k and change. In my head, prior to looking it up if figured it would be 15-16k so using that logic I could actually save some money if I bought one. However I’ll probably have to pass. I do like the dial.

I’d love to see that in a FOIS case…where are the photoshop gurus?!
And here you go!

I also tried with the Mk II, just because at one point, you know, why not? 😁
(and TBH I kinda like it...)

Thank you! This looks like a missed opportunity to me. Don’t get me wrong, I (think after 3 days I) like the new releases, but this case just feels more appropriate for some reason…

The clasp end links (on both sides) are notched so it can be flush with the bracelet, but it all depends if the central links are the same size because you will have to unscrew the 15mm clasp to remove it from the bracelet then install the chronoscope 16mm clasp with it. I think you would lose the elegance of the bracelet since it will leave a 0.5mm overhang on each side.

Same here. I like them but as soon as I did the copy/paste in Photoshop I thought: "Damn!" (and Damn again with the Mk II, even if my wrist is way too small for it)

BTW I did not check if the dials were up to scale for a 9908 on FOIS case... With an hypotetical 3860, subdials would have been way closer to the center

edit: There was a 5% difference. Here one up to scale with FOIS dimensions
(subdial centers are about 165mm appart - 39.7mm case diameter - 19mm L2L)

The dial starts to be a bit too big for the case...
To get IRL the 1st version of the photoshop, it would implies a 41mm watch, 20mm lug-width, 48.5 L2L. So, same bezel diameter, 1mm shorter lug width, and 0.5mm longer lugs. Not bad IMO

I looked, at the pictures and thought "Hmmmm.......if you really want a watch with a whole lot of scales and numbers that 99% of people won't use 99% of the time, just buy a Breitling Navitimer"

Still, there's no accounting for taste 😵‍💫

No argument there, but at least a Navitimer has a solid history behind it. And the dial looks better than this new Chronoscope, imo. The price for the LE Ref. 806 re-edition from 2019 was about the same price as the new Omega. I picked up one of the Breitlings, the only one I've ever had. I got an engineering degree in the pre-calculator era using a 6 in. Pickett slide rule, an N600-ES which also flew on NASA missions (Buzz Aldrin sold his N600-ES at auction in 2007), but I have no desire to use this feature on the Navitimer, it just looks purposeful. But I have no desire for this new Chronoscope, it just looks like a forced effort.

Good point. Looking at the photos more closely, it looks like you would probably need new end links anyway because of how they marry with the clasp. And 16mm end links would be wonky with a 15mm bracelet. I'm holding onto hope that there might be a quick-adjust clasp option, but I guess we'll see once someone gets ahold of one.

maybe Omega think if they put this dial into a FOIS case, the usability of those scales are close to useless due to visibility. But damn who use those anyway?

I went from liking it initially to loving it the more I see them 😀

Bronze Gold one to me is the big winner.

Maybe not for everyone but I like the mish match of ideas all in the one, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t but for me here personally it really works!

I thought a de ville case would've made more sense.
For this mockup I took the case of the 39mm olympic specialties model. Seriously 38-39mm would've been perfect for these dials.

Hit the nail in the head, this would have been the perfect case and a natural progression for the previous rattrapante deville line.

but I guess omega wanted them to sell so they forced it into the speedmaster lineup. I am intrigued all the same and will take a closer look at them when they arrive, I particularly am a fan of the panda dial with red markings. since I dont have a panda style watch.
