Just doesn't look right. Case is too sporty. The white dial with the red chrono hand may be the sportiest looking one so at least the dial kinda matches the case.

Umm no. It was in 1963 or so. The change to the professional case with crown guards.

I'll try to explain once more.

Before 2000's Omega measured watch cases across 12-6, therefore Speedmaster diameter was 39mm. Sometime in early 2000's Omega decided to measure across 2-8 and suddenly Speedmaster's diameter became 42mm.

Yes, I know that it has asymmetric case since 1960's, no need to remind it 😀

We know watches are no longer primarily bought for functionality and the snail dial on these Chronoscopes exemplifies this, but the blue dial variant with rhodium(?) subdial hands over silvery subdials goes a step further because the small second and 12 hour counters are practically unusable due to the absence of any colour contrast. Omega could have used blued hands like on another variant but must have decided appearance is more important than usability.

Not for me due to my eyesight. I have to really focus to read the bezel on my moon watch so I will pass on this.

Just noticed the Omega Speedmaster chronoscope release...
The dial filled with practical circled looks like an orrery of the Solar System
Another " not my style " piece... After all these "mediocre" pieces, read non-spaceflight related, I guess there's statistically perhaps a greater chance that Omega SA will release something amazing & solid for " 50 years ASTP "

They should put this kind of dial on a FOIS case. Anyone with PS skill please try?

I thought a de ville case would've made more sense.
For this mockup I took the case of the 39mm olympic specialties model. Seriously 38-39mm would've been perfect for these dials.

^^^ Yes, that's quite excellent. Maybe adjust the color for the Bronze Gold alloy. And remove the "Speedmaster" text 😉

......

That's much more suitable with those dials, imho.
I'm still asking myself, why did they go with a Speedy case?

Probably because the Speedmaster line is a relatively hot commodity these days for Omega. Can't get a Snoopy? How about a Chronoscope, it's still a Speedmaster!

Great work in photoshop - thank you. That looks like it would have been a home run…….

Looks great, the size is much better. Omega is trying to milk the speedmaster line to the max

I love it. However I think the JLC master chronograph might be worth a stretch at this price point.

On a second thought Omega can not milk this with a deville case so a FOIS is the best choice if they still wanna put the Speedmaster text on the dial.
