Thanks for sharing. Really looking forward seeing the new museum. I'm looking forward if they will show more interesting pieces.
Shame on me, live just one and a half away and never visit the museum... seriously when the new museum open I will join!
A little birdie flying around Washington, DC told me that a fantastic addition will be added to the Museum's collection.
I am looking forward to see the new museum. The old Omega museum was nice and has its own charm, but it is too small and too much focused on watches. There is a lot more to display around watches, the Space and Nasa history, the Olympic history, watch maker tools from the past, the window displays of the dealers of the past and lots beside the pure watches. Hope that will be included in the new museum as well to tell the complete Omega story.
Just offered most part of my digital NASA photo collection as a gift for the Omega museum... A preview of some historic photos: https://moonwatchuniverse.tumblr.com/archive
Thanks for posting the link. I'm enjoying the stroll through Speedmaster history on a Saturday morning.
Who ever edited the title was right, as mentioned in another topic, the current museum Rue Jakob-Stämpfli 96 will close doors by the end-of-May 2019... to prepare for the big move to the brand new building at Nicolas-G-Hayek Strass / Rue Nicolas Hayek ... I'll try and speculate on an opening date event date: Tuesday = 16 July 2019 = 50 years since Apollo 11 launch Tuesday = 23 July 2019 = 50 years since Apollo 11 splash-down
Omega Website ATTENTION: Dear visitor, from the evening of May 31st onwards our current Museum will close its doors forever to prepare for the opening of OMEGA’s new Museum.
Will be down there by end of July and wonder if they were ready with the museum prior to the 50th annie of moonlanding
Any chance the official opening would coincide with a SpeedyTuesday ( 16 JULY = launch of Apollo 11 or 23 JULY = splashdown Apollo 11 ) ?
