Now this is interesting. Pic is from hoodinkee.

Definately could make me sell my white Daytona and upgrade to this. Although I normally hesitate on ceramic bezels

I am somnolent with interest. How is this different from the old one? Ceramic Bezel?

Design-wise it's a step in the right direction, but still too much with the hour markers, and the shiny-ness overall IMO

Not that the black bezel is a small addition but the black subdials and the black lined hands. All of which should make it more legible

My favorite out of Baselworld so far is the Heuer Monza, but at 42mm that might change when I go to try it on.

Hodinkee says the movement is modified, too. But there is nothing mentioned about this in the Rolex press release. So I think they mean the certification master chronometer and no changes to the movement itself.

I like it very much! The white dial that is.

First Daytona that has caught my eye.
Idk the platinum is sexy. I only like daytonas with the dark bezels.

I know I'm in the extreme minority, but I've never liked that ice blue + brown color. Can't say I like the price tag either 😁

Have you tried it on? Like dipping your wrist into a black hole! That thing is heavy!

Yup similar to my PO 3313 on bracelet. The bracelet I'm not a fan of the edges are sharp and feel a bit cheap imho. Tourneau has one sitting unobtrusively in their used case at South Coast Plaza in Orange County, they really pushed zero payments and apr for a year on me with it. Super odd to see that watch sitting with nodate subs. Oddly the temp Rolex store at the same mall has it sitting in the back corner of their Daytona case. They are rebuilding after the in mall smash and grab they had last year. They hit the OB next door also they just put in a stronger front door.

That mall is insane for watch porn. Omega, Rolex, JLC, A Lange&Sohne, Bvlgari, Cartier, Chopard, IWC, Montblanc, Patek, Piaget, Tiffany, Tourbillion, Tourneau, Vacheron, and Van Cleef. Oh fossil and swatch also lol.

I posted this elsewhere, but I'll repeat that the new Daytona's a missed opportunity. Could've been incredible, instead it looks like a cheap imitation.

The Pros:
-Full integration of newer materials in movement and bezel.
-Black surround on the subdials.

The Cons:
-All-ceramic bezel looks tacked-on. Would have much preferred ceramic bezel surrounded by stainless steel a la 6263.
-Text on bezel looks cheap and blocky (like a modern Tag Heuer). Would have much preferred the text stay the same as the steel bezel.
-Rounded corners and all-polished finish on the case somehow cheapens the look. What happened to sharp corners, chamfers and bevels? I know they changed the finish on all their models, so more of an all-encompassing rant.

I know it'll sell like gangbusters, but most of the traditional Rolex design sophistication continues to be lost.

I do agree, if they dod not use ceramic but had just used a black steel bezel it would have been much ,much more desirable to me.

This is how different we are, I applaud the ceramic bezel. Maybe they should have put lume in it, too. And a new anti-magnetic movement...

I like it. Kinda like a Daytona and Submariner got married. I also love my 2005 white gold Daytona. All good!

The development of caliber 4130 has been a long and costly process which ended up with a very reliable, precise and well engineered movement.
I doubt that it will be substituted any time soon. Maybe upgraded, but not much more.
