Also major thanks to our pal @DirtyDozen12 as I just realized he was the one who had found and flagged it, on May 20, 2017, with his usual unbelievable sleuthing skills.

When people talk about « rare watch » or «long search » after hunting a watch for two months, that kind of makes me laugh.

A couple more shots of this beauty.

Fantastic, such a heartwarming story and a lovely watch.

The engraving makes it even more special.

I think that this beautiful Watch has ended up where it truly deserves to be.

All the best

So the message is, there are good people out there, whose characters and values rise above the wild jungle. As the saying goes: «buy the seller.»

Thanks T. for letting me have this lovely watch.
Such a great story, glad to hear you got it and it does have real charm!

Sounds like a positive watch karma story... 👍

...if you’re ever in Amsterdam you now have a strong endorsement for a watch place to check out.
Will definitely keep it in mind next time I'm there! Nice to visit one of the 'good' sellers when possible. I was there over the weekend two weeks ago but as often happens ended up holed up in my hotel room and didn't venture out.

@gostang9 that is exactly what I thought— great karma. I believe the universe ends up rewarding those who do good. Or at least I believe that accepting and giving acts of kindness encourages others on the right path.
Of course it’s those rose glasses again.....

I agree. One of the most powerful ideas for me is that we often see and find that which we are looking for. Those who want to find good in the world, find it all around. Those who want to find the bad, also succeed...

And indeed 8LN @noelekal.

Serial number is partly hidden by the movement holder so we’ll have to wait until I get it serviced to get the final word from Longines on the date the watch was sold.

And Longines’ wonderful Brand Heritage dept was able to confirm the serial number and date with lightning speed.

@Syrte Thank you for posting the response from Longines. It is wonderful to see the cliché for 4807, a reference I was not familiar with.

A pleasure to share @DirtyDozen12 .
That bezel looks like the so called "generation 2" large tre tacche.
I wonder whether any lady tre tacches have the "generation 1" tre tacche bezel.

I wonder too; mine's a gen 2, invoiced on 6 Oct. 1942 to MacDonald and Co. , Bolivia. I've since these pics replaced the missing fixed bar and had a COA, so it's in pretty good shape.
