Is the D worth the premium?
Standard answer "it depends" but as long as you get it serviced when needed, you're good with either.

Here’s mine, bought in May, 2010. Etching is visible on the caseback and I have a different number on the end links. The scratches and bezel fade is from wearing it literally 24/7/365 for almost nine years until I bought the Speedmaster in March, 2019.
I’m no expert, but if you can confirm the swirly Omega etching is not always present and any other differences, you should be okay. It looks to be in great shape. I’d forgotten how bright the orange used to be!
I love see a watch that has been worn like this. All the places its been, all the memories made. I have a Seamaster just like it. Wore it over a decade before I started buying more watches.

Just had my 2500D serviced by Phillip Ripley, Watch appeared to have had 1 service before my ownership. Now it’s running +1 spd, couldn’t be any happier. This is prob my fav omega next to the 90’s era speedys.

Still haven't seen my watch since it went in for servicing on March 5th 2020.
Called them last Thursday and apparently it'll finally be ready for pick up by this Friday.
Complete overhaul and new crystal. Can't wait to see it on my wrist again.

Wish you to receive it soon and enjoy it in good health.
My PO 2500c is my daily beater and i believe the most comfortable diver watch i have ever tried (42mm).

Nothing too out of the ordinary there...I added some labels for you...

It's interesting to me when people are surprised at the number of parts that get replaced during a service. Some brands don't send the old parts back, but to me being able to see what was replaced is important to understand that these need maintenance.

I am of the opinion that Rolex doesn't give back the replace parts for a very specific reason - talking about movement parts specifically. By not sending parts back that they replace, they never show the customer that their watches do in fact wear out. This leads to people believing that Rolex watches are something special, when they aren't. Sure external parts you can make a case that they could be used for counterfeiting or whatever (not that it seems to stop fake Rolex watches) but worn out movement parts? To me there's only one reason not to give those back, and it's a marketing driven reason.

Cheers, Al

They gave me this book also. I understand that I would've gotten the watch back sooner if it wasn't for covid. Aside from that, very pleased with the service I got from the omega service center in Montreal. Very professional.

Did you speak with Jessica there? Not sure if she's still there or not...

Honestly, don't know their names. There was a younger woman there and a man with a parisien accent. All staff was great and patient with me since I called for updates several times. Can't help it lol.

Question about the crystal. The previous one had a blue tint to the Ar coating. The one they replaced it with doesn't have the blue tint but on the receipt it's described as having Ar coating both sides. Have they changed something in terms of AR coating?

Looks great! If you don’t mind my asking, did Omega replace all of that under the flat fee arrangement? I always wonder what parts are out of bounds.
