This caseback doesnt have the little logo etched on the side . I'm assuming not all years have this?

My 2006 PO has the laser etching and I believe that the orange tip on the second hand is typically lighter! Also does the crystal have a AR coating? Should have a blue/purple sheen like a polarized sunglass lens

From the pic above, it looks like it has at coating. Just finished researching the omega etching. Not all watches, models or years have it.

Here’s mine, bought in May, 2010. Etching is visible on the caseback and I have a different number on the end links. The scratches and bezel fade is from wearing it literally 24/7/365 for almost nine years until I bought the Speedmaster in March, 2019.
I’m no expert, but if you can confirm the swirly Omega etching is not always present and any other differences, you should be okay. It looks to be in great shape. I’d forgotten how bright the orange used to be!

Just picked it up. Feels great. Has great wrist presence. No "globe" etching on the back.
Ar coating intact. Great looking watch.

Nice! Clamp it on your wrist - it’s a new addition to your body. Wear it like a tattoo!

From what iceI read in my brief research, they started the etching in 2003. Not all models have it. You could have 2 same watches with only one of them having the globe etching.

Go black for an incredible tool watch look. You are going to love your new watch. Tough as nails; accurate as hell!

Take it to a watchmaker to confirm the movement looks like this and note the number on the movement should match the number on the case lug!

Making me miss my old watch now. I think the 2500 movements really hit the sweet spot of great value, wearability and looks. If all in order that’s a great catch, enjoy it.

After looking at the date wheel , it looks to be a 2500C and not D like I previously thought.
The "4" is flat top and not pointed. Am I correct?

I’m not certain if/when the 4 changes but I can confirm I have a flat 4 on my 2500C

My 2201.50 with a 2500c movement has the globe etching. Even my 2531.80, which I would imagine was produced before any Planet Ocean models were available, has the globe etching. As someone said above, I would have a watchmaker open the caseback and make sure everything looks kosher inside.

Will do.

I am no expert and who knows if they had variations. I used to have a 2500 D and my date wheel was different. I never knew about the four but the 1 was different and I was told that was the difference.

either way congrats on a nice watch.

I'm at my watchmaker as we speak. Will find out shortly.
