How is Neil Peart dead yet Ozzy is still alive and making a musical comeback. That’s how screwed up the world of life is.

My first concert was Rush Moving Pictures tour 1981 and was an amazing concert. Saw them 6 times after that and each show was an amazing evolution of their music.. The professor will be missed, RIP Neil

A real shame - I really got into Rush in the late 70s and early 80s after discovering ‘All the World’s A Stage’ which I would play over and over again. Also saw them a number of times, most notably at the New Bingley Hall in Staffordshire, England! (It might as well have been the other side of the world when coming from London!) I began to go off them a bit when they migrated from the harder-edge rock style to the more commercial-sounding ‘The spirit of Radio’ type stuff. Great days.

Anyway, RIP Neil Peart, legendary musician.

Just dug this video up, as long as Neil inspired kids like this one, he will live forever...

RIP. Listened to quite a bit of Rush, especially in the 80s. He was an amazing talent.

Like Keith Richards, Ozzy is pickled- has a shelf life for decades.

It’s headline news now. Hate to admit this but I never connected with this band. Nevertheless, great drummer.
This is a great statement though that I wish many adopted, wether you appreciated their music or not, it’s about understanding and respecting a talented musician.

Same with Willie Nelson. He should have been dead decades ago, yet......

Very sad day. Like many, I grew up on Rush. Not to be overly dramatic, but life in my younger years was rough and it was Neil's lyrics that I escaped to when I had to. The music of Rush was my escape.

"What happened to our innocence? did it go out of style?"

Fox News' Bret Baier just announced his death during the news hour, so not ignored.

So F&F was friendly... We Canadians appreciate it 😝

Very sad news. What a great drummer and a great band!

It is ironic I was listening to a Rush marathon that was recorded in December earlier tonight. So much great music..it is tragic we have lost a such a great musician. RIP Neil

Got one of my kids interested in them (effortlessly) in early high school and took him and his older brother to see the band live in Austin in 2012. Good times. RIP.

Sorry to hear this and I hope it goes well. This is the same cancer that took Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip back in 2016, which he was very public about.

True to Neil’s character, he kept this diagnosis under wraps until 3 days after his death. He was a very private person in many ways...as any Rush fan knows the song Limelight revealed his discomfort with fame...

Almost 4 years to the day after the death of Bowie...hard to believe it’s been 4 years already.

If there’s a rock n’ roll heaven.....

I've just read the sad news. 🙁 RIP Neil. He was a fantastic drummer and inspired many musicians around the world. I remember when I first heard RUSH in my teenage years. I immediately asked my bass player friend to go to our rehearsal room. We listened to RUSH and tried to play the songs. It wasn't an easy task. We were 14 years old. I'll never forget it.
