Have really enjoyed reading on this site, and I picked up my first Omega (FOIS) a few months ago. I've been really impressed with it. So much so that I want to add another Omega to my small collection.

I don't think I'll ever be a person that has a 10 watch collection. I want a small collection where all of the watches get use. Currently, my collection is:
1. victorionox swiss army two tone quartz - got in switzerland when I was 16, my first watch. Some sentimental value but gets no wrist time.
2. TAG Heuer Aquaracer Way2110 - gift from my parents for my 30th birthday. Love the watch. Think it's very underrated. Wear it quite often.
3. FOIS - never getting rid of
4. Lorier Neptune III - Picked this up as a good beater. Like the watch.

I really want the Aqua Terra Skyfall. It can act as an every day watch or a dress watch. My collection seems to be missing a dressier watch (though that TAG and FOIS can be dressed up).

The TAG I have has the horizontal teak pattern and stainless bezel so its the closest diver you can get to the Aqua Terra. Is it too similar? Should I sell the TAG even though it has sentimental value? I'd sell the Swiss Army but it's not worth much.

Don't sell the Tag, it sounds like you like it and sentimental value is important. I think pictures would help get more feedback. Have you considered the globemaster steel. Dressy and classic, but not too dressy.

Here's a picture of the TAG. The Aqua Terra I want has the vertical lines and framed date window in blue.

+1 on the Globemaster 😁 recent purchase for me and hard to put down! Switched the bracelet for a cordovan blue leather strap. It really works as casual with say jeans and a t-shirt or the minute you put a smart jumper or shirt on it dresses up nicely!

Some pics always help...

Keep the TAG Heuer - I have an old 1500 series TH that was my first decent watch and I have had it almost 30 years. I will never get rid of it.

The Globemaster is very nice. For some reason, my heart is stuck on the aqua terra though. Is it too similar to the TAG pictured above?

I get that, I spent a long time lusting after the Aqua Terra 231.10.42.21.03.003 it's still on my list. Personally I think it looks completely different to the TAG. Yes the dials both have lines but very different watches and I think they could easily compliment each other.
I would recommend trying on a Skyfall if you can and wear your TAG when you try it on to compare.

thanks for the thoughts. That’s a good idea. I did go to the omega boutique and try on the 38 and 41 blue aqua terra but I didn’t have the TAG on. Sounds like a good excuse to go back....

I think I did 4 visits to the OB dedicated to my AT research trying to decide between the 38 & 41.

The TAG and the Aqua Terra are very different watches imho. I would have also suggested to have a closer look at the Globemaster but personally, I would go with the AT (I have one). Don't sell the TAG! Watches with sentimental value shouldn't be sold. It is a gift from your parents, right? I think selling it is something you will regret. In the end, the only thing matters is if you like the watch on your wrist or not. I have the 41mm AT black dial and would always buy it again - I would even add another AT ; ) Can't go wrong with it as an every day "GADA" watch. It is capable and stylish at the same time and more refined than the other Seamaster models. Good luck with your decision!

If you're looking for the "skyfall" model (231.10.42.21.03.001 or 231.10.39.21.03.001), that'll be tough as it's been discontinued since around 2013 or 2014. It's not often they show up for sale on the secondary market. If you happen to come across one, I'd quickly jump on it.

Update here!

Did a 180 and ended up with the grey dial/blue accent on the 8900. The more I thought about it, and while I love the skyfall still, this watch just spoke to me, and its just different from every watch in my collection. I can't stop staring at it, to be honest. The rubber is top notch (also got a package deal with the bracelet and leather).

Great choice! I love the blue/grey combinations Omega has been doing. I have eyes for the SMPc that's has the grey wave dial and blue hands/accents

It's really striking. And in different light, it can be like 3 or 4 different watches!

Of all Omega’s modern offerings. This is the one I’d go for so +1!
