Hi, I am new to the vintage watch market and found this 1982 de ville. The listed price was $1500 AUD and assuming it’s in good working condition I was wondering if that was an acceptable price?? I have found the model to be HG 791.0857

That particular watch is not valued by collectors, and (unless I'm mistaken) it has no significant precious metal content, so there really isn't an external market that could validate a price. That means a "reasonable price" is simply the price on which a buyer and seller agree. If, by paying $1500, you would be happy to own the watch, then that's a reasonable price. The seller is obviously happy to sell at that price. But in the absence of other information, I would expect the watch to sell for around $150.
