I have been looking for my first Elgin to add to my collection and found one that appeals to me and is priced reasonably (around USD 130). It is with a Grade 643 automatic movement and engraving at the back saying 1957. However, after some homework done online, I found that fonts and symbol on the dial do not quite match some photos of the same model from the internet. I wonder if it is a reprint or it is perfectly fine for fonts and symbol to vary from watch to watch in the 1950s? The first one below is the one I want to get and the second and third ones are those from google photo search for comparison. Much appreciate your further comments!
