Probably to a replica forum or so?
It was in this thread:
They linked to a site that sells fake SM300 kits in addition to 100’s of other fake items. The link was removed by a mod but the discussion was left intact.

@Horologist you can link articles from perezcope. It’s been done many times before and can lead to healthy discussion:
You can’t, however, link fake watch forums, fake manufactures, fake suppliers, fake products for purchase, etc.

The following site was discussing Rolex but the principle remains the same for any other collectible brands which would be of interest here too!
What sent me in a tailspin was learning that the buck doesn’t stop just with those who sell fakes but a much darker world of more sinister players

disclaimer; In light of a previous post which I linked a site to have information not in line with the rules ( done in good faith) I will leave it to the moderators discretion (should the article encroach the acceptability of the contents) to hence remove the above link as there is no intent to breach any rules, laws or codes on my part

Thank you
I have opened a case with catawiki, but they demand proof from a trusted source etc. before they will look into it.

By the way, I am the original poster of this thread which I started when I found this watch on Catawiki (not chrono24). Once I got the feedback from the community about it being fake, I reported this to Catawiki and gave them the link to this thread. Obviously they didn't do anything and still allowed the watch to be sold to you. Sorry for this.

Wow that is crazy.
Could you please send me the case number or email you sent to Catawiki

Not sure which one is the ticket number, but here is the email title:

Looks like the same watch (or the same batch). Definite fake.
I doubt a watch is even associated with this catawiki listing. I’m betting it’s a scam. The pics used are the same pics used by the original seller the OP was asking about. That seller was on C24 and from Japan. The catawiki seller is from Turkey.

Here is my post where I linked the original seller and you can see that the pics from that listing are the same as the catawiki listing. I didn’t save the pics where the seller showed the nato strap as those were irrelevant, as I was only sharing those pics to show the case shape:

I agree it’s likely fake, not least because I’ve never seen a fake bezel fitted to a correct case and with other models such as the SM120 I’m sure it’s documented that the fake bezels will not fit genuine cases.

But either way, I’d like to see more pictures as if its is fake, it’s clearly an improved version as it’s materially different and better than the fakes we’ve seen over the couple of years.
Fake or aftermarket?

I had an aftermarket bezel fitted onto a genuine SM120 case and it did so perfectly.

I then had the aftermarket bezel replaced by a NOS genuine bezel and that too, of course, also fitted perfectly.

The aftermarket bezel I bought was in a kit of parts being sold on Etsy. From memory the description would have you believe that they were 'Omega'.

After only the tiniest amount of research it was obvious that the bezel, the only part I was interested in, was not by Omega. But I bought the kit anyway because I wanted my watch to have a bezel on it (the other bits went in the bin).

Then having purchased a correct bezel, I decided to make my aftermarket bezel available in case someone else wanted to do what I had. So I listed it on eBay as an Aftermarket bezel, referred to it in the description as Aftermarket, discussed what it was by message with the buyer and insisted that the transaction be completed through eBay. There was no deceit.

I’m surprised at that. Have you got a picture of it with the fake bezel?

Bezels have not branding, so there is nothing illegal or explicitly counterfeit about an aftermarket bezel. But they are still "fake" to most of us.

I tried this about three years ago. I thought I had posted it on the forum at some point, but I can’t recall where.

The bezel construction is like the originals and the dimensions are pretty close. Obviously, if anybody has handled a real one, it can’t be mistaken for one.

A piece of advice. You buy the seller before you buy the watch. I got mine years ago when they were dam cheaper miss those prices knew the seller because he serviced and relumed some of my watches through the years when you know the seller you know he won't rip you off he had like 5 of them for sell at the MWR forum one thing buying off a sells section of a forum you also know they are most likely real because a forum will catch it members will call it out. So, if you want on put a WTB here at this forum you might have to pay a little more but if you don't know enough about them to know if it's fake buying at a forum your best bet.
