Hi OF,
I need your help with this watch that I want to buy.
This ome popped on local market. The seller will not open the case unless I think his pricing is ok
He said it is 36.5mm so I think that is a jumbo 168001.
My questions are:
1. Is it a 168001
2. The dial look original to me, my bigges concern is the case seems polished. The wrong crown. Want to here your opinions.
3. With the bor, is it worth $1400 as seller is asking for it? I have no problem of paying if that worth the price.
Sorry for my bad english.
H

If a dealer refuses to open the caseback and show you the caliber thats a big warning that probably something is wrong, case is definetely polished , the crown is wrong , crystal is not the original omega signed one (not a dealbreaker) . Wont comment about the dial lets wait someone more experienced to comment on that , if everything is okay though and the dial is not redone then we are talking about a pretty good deal. Dont forget to ask photos of the BOR bracelet buckle to check if its correct .

He is not refuse open the case, he will open it if I think the price is ok. So I can alway say no if something is wrong with the movement. The polished case is what concern me the most.

It's very likely a 168.001 and if you dont grab it please PM me so I can take a shot at it. $ 1400 is a no brainer and I would buy it asap. Here's mine...

And dont listen to much to the case police on OF. I really cant understand why somebody would pass on a 55 year old watch like this with such a beautiful dial because the case was polished in the past. Sometimes OF for me is missing the essence of a watch. The strength of a watch IMHO lies in the dial. Only when a case is beat to death I would leave a watch alone. The 168.001 are rare birds, especially when their dials are flawless. Most have heavy patina. Anyway, good luck!

If you do not buy this, something is wrong with you. If you can't buy it, let somebody here buy it and win a friend. Absolute no brainer for me....kind regards. Achim

Not in Asia, especially Japan but now getting scarce.

But 37mm is the best size connie for modern wrist. Here is my polished case for OP reference.
