The watch arrived today, a kind member highlighted to me that the watch is not totally original, any other inputs from our other brothers here?

I don''t see any replaced parts, except for the hour hand. The dial is in poor condition and it is missing the special springbar:

There were several version of the watch in different metals and sizes. I'm not sure which one you have.

The main crown is incorrect or is badly damaged. As mentioned by @gatorcpa the hour hand is also wrong. I have never seen a gold filled version with the special spring bar so no worries on that side. These were cased in the US and Longines has little info on them. Note that some are equipped with a 10.68N movement (they have a ring spacer in that case).

Not making a separate thread since this one already exists - I happened to get an offer for sale on this particular Hour Angle from 1930s. Seller claims the watch case to be Gold - how does one identify it as Gold and not gold-filled? The watch was a presentation watch with the caseback having inscriptions from the period - anyone can help identify this?

Also is the movement and crown(s) original to the watch? Seller asks 1250 usd and I'd like to have all of your inputs on this before pulling the trigger.

Firstly, this is a neat example with that inscription and what looks to be a period-correct strap and buckle. Secondly, determining whether the case is solid gold or gold-plated is usually achieved by looking at the markings on the inside of the case-back. I would ask the seller to provide a clear photo of the inside of the case-back.

Should say on the inside of the caseback. My guess at that price level is gold filled. If it turns out to be solid 14K, take it now.

Movement looks correct, although I’d like to see the serial number to confirm the 1938 date. Not sure about the crowns, but it is a plus if the upper crown locking mechanism is intact. These frequently get lost when crowns are replaced.

No idea on the inscription.
