Is it my nesting pair of Mourning Doves back again this Spring???

Could be…..

I’d been hearing lots of early morning cooing over the last 2 weeks or so.

Yes!!

I made that shield years ago to encourage return.

This beautiful wildflower ragged robin is at its peak in my local country park in Sunderland, I seeded these flowers many years ago they have year by year multiplied in a marsh land where they thrive they also attract bees moths and butterflies.

And now for something pretty but poisonous - in a neighbour's front yard garden.

This is the time for bee orchids to flower this plant looks like a bee and also smells like a female bee to entice the male bee to what it believes to be a bee only for the bee to pollinate the flowers . These orchids numbers are up and down from year to year I found one last year they were several. Stunning to see in there wild surroundings.

I’m always happy to see these two around. I think mommy left them too early or she got got. They used to roll down small hills and seemed lost. They are doing fine now.

Spotted these little fellas yesterday on my walk to the shops.
I thought they were attacking a slug at first, from the shape and fact they were moving forwards.
Looks like it was a team effort to roll something across the footpath. They were weaving in and out of each other but the forward progress of the group as a whole was very straight and quite an impressive speed.
Wish I'd taken a video now, but in the sun and with broken glasses I couldnt even be sure these pictures would be in focus.

Not something I'd have thought of as community minded or team players.

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Looked an easy target for the Crows or Magpies, but maybe they know better.

That's wild.

Wow! Thank you for that 👍👊

no problem! I had to look them up, wasn't sure what they were (but definitely not caterpillars), so I learned something pretty cool as well.
Here stateside we have tent caterpillars that sometimes bundle up like that or will sometimes form processionary lines (it's a bit crazy to watch)- but I've never seen them move en masse like you described. Wish I'd seen it!

Glad I didn't write caterpillar, but that's what I initially thought!
I'll have to pop back there tomorrow and see if there's any sign of a communal cocoon like in your link. They were heading away from a single tree the Council had planted on the roadside verge. With caterpillars in my mind I was looking for half eaten leaves when I glanced at it.
