Bumped into this little guy today on a countryside walk. Tried to offer him some water but he made a sharp exit so hopefully is ok.

Ok this freaked me out a bit this morning but tbh I have not been paying much attention to clouds until recently but I’m wondering if this is a sign of the end times. I’ve come to find most cloud formations have specific names I just don’t know what they are can I name this one or does it already have a name? I can’t imagine it’s the first appearance of such a formation in human history, or even my history for that matter I’m just usually oblivious to my surroundings

Hmmm had to look that up. May very well be altostratus but I think I prefer my name “endtime clouds”

We have this small window in the front of the house, and the birds love to make nests on the ledge under it. Since we get deliveries all the time, they often abandon the nest part way through construction. We've tried to discourage building there, so my wife put some white candles there to sort of block the ledge, but they built right on top of those.

So, a Robin took over the partially made nest thing spring that some other bird had started, so she finished it, and we have two small ones inside:

Took this while she was out foraging for food. We have a stained glass panel on the inside of the window, but we can often see her silhouette through it while she feeds them.

That’s charming, almost enchanting. What a treat

While I was brushing my teeth last night, all of sudden I hear screaming by my SO from upstairs and she flies down the stairs and runs frantically forth and back. I go: what happened? She: we have a bird in our bed room, please get it out.

Well, not before I've taken a few shots. This was the best I could achieve in low light conditions. Isn't it cute 😀

My new next door neighbour (man in his 30's) came to me the other day stating that he had a bird in his chimney, he was scared, and didn't know what to do...so I told him to open the fireplace up, open the damper, stay quiet, and the bird would eventually come out. Then use sheets or blankets to direct it out the door.

I know they are descendants of dinosaurs, but small birds really aren't that scary...

Speaking of birds...here is the mummy looking after her little ones as seen from inside the house:

And maybe birds are scary, in particular if you are a small animal. We often see small birds chasing various birds of prey around, trying to shoo them away from stealing eggs or chicks out of nests. Out walking the dogs at lunch, and we hear a commotion, and several small birds are chasing a hawk of some kind (a Broad-winged maybe) which flew across out path just above eye level, maybe 5 meters ahead of where we were walking. The predator was carrying something, and we quickly realized it was a squirrel.

Took a couple of photos with my phone (so not great to zoom in with) as the bird sat on the roof of a house with the poor squirrel in it's talons:

The squirrel wasn't moving that we could see, so we thought it was dead already, but when the bird flew away we could hear it squealing...terrible sound...

Nature can be cruel...
