Yes. A tad bit down the road, but same boulevard. You were luckier than me then.
I feel there were assumptions made, like:
- you have an old watch, its going to have marks
***** (The watch face was pristine as was the back. I received it back with dust / bits inside the face, 2 marks on the face, and a scratch on the back, into the gold)*****
Assumed I was:
- probably not a watch aficionado
- probably knows nothing of its history
- hasn't been running in forever
- was never serviced OR was never serviced by anyone with skill ~ this person would never know
- how would this person be able to tell the difference from before they brought it in, and after ---
For example: I kept saying
"There are marks on the Face"
And he kept saying never mind it looks beautiful its a 50 year old watch, I collect watches --- even tho something looks awful you'll lessen the value of you refurbish
And I UNDERSTAND that with collectibles
Mine was family heirloom sentimentality precious metal....
I W A N T E D pristine
See...
- Pristine wasnt even offered as an option (*before or after the fact)
- They acted like the stain spots were there because of its age
- I was blown off because the watch is old
Man oh man oh man do I strongly dislike service that's uncommunicative and sloppy like I received.
Sorry so long. Maybe someone else can relate and has local alternatives. That's all. I'll try United Watch in downtown SF etc etc. I want my money back, because that money has to go towards a Re-Do.
My biggest fear is some random swap out of parts on MY watch to better the copywatch trade - unbeknownst to me, because I'm not a watch repairman.
