The regulator and the pointer are one piece on the 321. This means if you want the have the regulator centered, weight would have to be removed or added to the balance.

Yes, as I said in the thread that I linked to above, pretty much all that I have seen are slow. This means the rate was too fast with the regulator in the middle, which means to keep it there you can add two timing washers to bring the rate down. It would be a simple 5 minute fix for most of these, so why didn't Omega bother to do so with the "special team" of highly trained watchmakers? I can only conclude it's because they didn't care enough to bother.

Maybe Omega has had as hard of a time as I have had finding timing washers selections and didn’t want to buy them off eBay… 🙄

Answer from Omega

This individual fine adjustment is made using the regulator. The spiral is shortened or lengthened by means of the regulator. Depending on requirements, this is then pushed to the left or right and does not have to be set in the middle.

Thanks for sharing, Hegi. Congratulations on receiving the 321. I'm on the list! Enjoy!

Passed all of my standard tests, altitude was fine, escalation perfect, angle of variance well within MESTA guidelines. As a precaution, I have checked the timekeeping several times yesterday at 30-minute intervals against an atomic clock suspended in a vacuum, and my martinis were perfect every time.
Altitude? Escalation? Angle of variance? MESTA? Can you link me to your watch dictionary?

Why always assume the worst out of people/organizations? 😒

On the one hand we all complain that there are not enough 321 produced, that we want our watch YESTERDAY… but if Omega happens to save time during production that could lead to more watches sold, then we complain again!!

Do I think it is a bit bad taste to not have the regulator dead centered on a brand new one. Yes. Probably. But would this bother me to a point where I would decline a 321? NO!!! 👍

Now, let me return to my soap box on the “broken 3861s”…. 😁 ::stirthepot::

So what is the alternative? That they tried to center it and failed? That’s even worse...
