If for any reason you made the decision to sell this beauty, please send me a message. Somehow, I get the feeling that I'm hardly the first to tell you that!
In the meantime, and with my newest acquisition still in transit, I've decided to give my original "little feel-good watch™" some much deserved wrist time. I absolutely adore this timepiece.
The calibre 3000 Lemania I bought last week on Catawiki finally came in today, or rather I had to pick it up from a Post Office. But the wait was worth it. This watch is gorgeous, much better looking than what the seller's picture had led me to believe. Here is a quick shot I took right after opening the package.
Apart from the fact that the strap it came in with is too short, even at that last hole, the watch is in remarkably good state and that linen dial has much more a cream color than the more yellow tint suggested by the auction photos. I have no idea what white balance settings they used, but they were off! Also, the linen effect on the dial is quite subtle, and I like it that way.
Upon returning home this evening, I gave the case a gentle wipe with a jeweller's cloth, changed the strap to a classier XL one, and decided to have a celebratory smoke. Such a beauty for less than €300? I call that a bargain!
