Your grandfather had good taste in watches. My grandfathers on both sides had nice watches but I didn't know enough about them at the time, so they both went to other people. I now wish that I had them, so I'm glad to hear that you are going to hang onto this one.

The chrono second hand length is fine, no need to change it apart from getting the rust cleaned. Here's mine for comparison.

Very interesting to see that this short sweep hand is correct.

Just to make it clear, that is NOT a rule on Omegaforums.

It's more of a philosophy than a rule, and like all philosophy, there is a wide range of opinions. It really drives some ppl nuts, and others are happy to oblige.

Beautiful Zenith , great dial variation !

Well, it's not a philosophy on OF either...

Just curious, why does it drive some people nuts?
I've never seen a discussion about it, so I'd love to find out.

drive by evaluations, from people that have no real interest in watches, or intentions to join the community, or contribute in any way. Basically just using OF as a free appraisal service for "how much is this watch worth that I got from my XXX"

at least, that's my impression. I get it, but I don't really care personally. I think it actually brings watches into OF, which can be a good thing sometimes. If I have 5 minutes to answer and I'm in the mood, I'm happy to try and help, and if I don't feel like it, I just ignore.

But that's all just a matter of opinion, what @ConElPueblo is trying to make clear is there's no such formal policy on OF (since other forms actually do have a policy against this).

Hello all,
First of all I'm sorry about my low knowledge about watches.

IMG-1185.jpg

My grandfather gave this watch to me when i was 14 years old. I kept her until this time. I loved to wear her from time to time. Last weekend i bring her to a repair shop to get a new band. And the repairman told me this is a valuable watch. I didn't think so!

After some searchs via google image, I found that this watch is named as 146 hp and there's copycats. After i read more and more, I bring her to another watch shop and wanted them to remove the back.

Can you please tell me more about this watch? What's the history behind it? How much valued is this?

ps: I also recorded a video while she's working 😀

Fantastic watch!! It is not just a marvellous piece of Zenith History but it is absolutely special for you!! Take care of it!!😀😀😀

This is a slight tangent to the OP's original thread but I've had this question for a while and this seems a good place to ask: are the blue subdial hands in this watch original, or are the black hands in the OP's version correct, or both? Gorgeous watches either way.

I believe both are correct

I believe the OP's watch also have blued subdial hands, it's just the photo angle.
