Again, new to the forum so please forgive any unintended clumsiness as far as rules, ettiquette, et cetera. I have seen a lot of great watches on here and thought I would ask about my only Rolex; I have no idea of the year, but I am pretty positive it is authentic. Its in a little bit of rough shape, but it is what it is. I know the bracelet is not original to the watch, but I wore a leather strap for a while and when the two were separated the original bracelet that came with the watch got gone. I have no idea where it is. I got the two tone on eBay, but beieve it to be genuine. THere are a few issues with the watch, and my watchmaker said it would take about $1,500 to make it right. He is not an authorized dealer (which I think you abbreviate as AD), so I probably wouldn't have him do the work. Anyway, here are the pictures;

Please forgive the poor quality photos (am using my phone), but please tell me whatever you can about this watch and what it might be worth.

Thanks as always.

How did you come up with your assessment? 😕

Is the repair quote based on a thorough movement inspection?

Based on the person from whom I got the watch. I trusted him, and he represented it as authentic. I had no reason to doubt it. Do you now think I should? I don't think the quote was based on a thorough movement inspection.
