My 1939 Longines A-11 got wet in the rain this morning. It's not rated for 300 fathoms, so will the battery in it explode? I'm worried because it is the same temperature as my arm and stainless steel shouldn't be that warm.

Picture to memorialize it after it's gone.

Aren’t you supposed to first post a thread asking if you should buy it before making such a post?

That watch is way to small, it's a women's size, perhaps it's been wet before and shrunk?
I don't think the rice trick will work with this one as you can't get any 1939 vintage rice any more and modern rice only works on modern watches. I think you are screwed on this one, put in in the drawer put on your Speedmaster and go mow the lawn.

It's 2026, maybe I identify as a woman when I wear this one. Maybe I identify as a fighter pilot. I'll go on ebay and buy some 1939 rice and then it'll all be okay.

It's jacked.

If you could send it to me I'll dispose of it properly.

I wouldn’t beat yourself up. I can see the watch was already damaged by too much parallax. None of your hands line up with any of the numbers properly. It can’t be fixed because older watches weren’t built to work with modern cameras.

It's just like 1940 all over again! Now, budget cuts must have been insane, how did the bomber navigator ever tell what time it was? Or was it really designed to be put into dark places where strip searches wouldn't find your spy watch????

It looks good! It's looks like it has always seen the light of day. Please make sure to change the battery every two years or when you see smoke coming out! Love the band, the whole watch looks absolutely perfect except the picture isn't black and white.

I don’t think O.E.M. Smoke is available any more. I have not confirmed this, but I hear you can use this to replace any smoke you may have lost.

Sadly, my A-11 quit running early Thursday morning. There was a stretch Wednesday night that I thought it was going to be okay, but when I woke up Thursday it was dead. I tried jump starting it with my car but that didn't work. I'm going to see about sending it back to Longines for a refund.
