··@ ΩFThat must be a real kick in the head for them. I suspect that all the watches they've worked on for me would fall into that category. If they have to go to Bienne the prices will rocket up I suspect.

The head office of Swatch Service UK in Southampton has issued an instruction to all it's omega approved service centres that all cat 4 watches have to be returned to Bienne for service.
I'm sorry but i am a real newbie to all this. But was is a Cat 4? For that matter what are the categories, I didn't even know there were different ones. Also is the any where to decipher all these new acronyms and abbreviations i have never seen before?
P.S. I hate being the new/stoopid guy.
I have a couple of similar watches and keep an eye on prices and conditions. The 1039 bracelet is rather common and worth a few hundred at best. The 145.012 - 67 is possibly the most common cal. 321 Speedmaster. The head alone in this condition could be found for 2500 to 3000 USD with little trouble. A realistic estimate of its value with the bracelet: 3000 to 3500 USD.
ok

The above could have sold for close to 3k or 3.5k.

This watch has no 1039, but sell the one shown and apply that money to buying one and you're still done at less than 4k.
The bottom line is: The watch was average, and the price was appropriate for a well-above-average watch of that model. I should note that by "price" I am referring to the total expenditure to obtain the watch.
