Hello once again dear members
My omega is finally in my hands. Thanks a ton for all the help from you guys. It’s my 1st real watch from a quality maker. Can appreciate the quality and workmanship.
To the photos then
It came to me in fantastic shape. No scratches/dinks any where. So the few polishes it had seen didn’t go for nothing. The lug holes are also super clean. I was expecting some scratches there as it originally came on a metal strap from the seller. The crystal though unsigned is blemish less too. Guess it wasn’t worn much. Dial is pristine.
The watch had reached me in early November. To be honest I was a little disappointed with the size. Though I was expecting this it still came as a surprise when I actually got hold of the watch.( I had never seen a vintage omega in person before). It took some time and help from the members eg @Vanallard to warm up to it. Hence the delay in posting here.
Some wrist shots
Really love it now. And is going to be a keeper. The Mrs loves it too and borrows it much too often. She especially loved the tan strap i had put on earlier. I changed it to the current one. Fixed a 20mm one with some “jugaad”. I kind of liked the wider strap. It’s just temporary 10 dollar strap. Wanted to try different looks before I invested on a proper one. Thank you all once again.

Stunning, I remember the initial thread where you bought it in the US and we’re waiting for it to get delivered (to India if my memory serves me well?).

Anyway, great example. The size is a perfect fit for your wrist honestly.

Dibs, if ever you wanted to part with it! Enjoy.

Yes. You are perfectly right. Great memory.

yes I agree it’s perfect size, now. In fact I fully warmed up to it only after taking photos and realising how good it looks in photos.

But a word of advice/ caution to the ultra newbies like my self. It looks tiny compared to regular modern day watches. I guess it was a matter of pride in the old days to make them compact. But once you get used to it one can really appreciate the quality and aesthetics of it.

you flatter me with the dibs😀. I hope to pass it on to the kids someday.

Congrats on your first vintage purchase. A cursive Geneve is a great choice and they aren’t easy to find in good original condition. My 1959 reference 2903 says hello. It was my first vintage purchase and many more followed it.

I remember all this because I have been looking for a similar example for some time. But so far, condition was never good enough. Playing the long game! I might try a WTB on the forum this year.

Yours has one of the most appealing combination, in my opinion, with these markers, no lume, no date, two-tone, and center second.
