Hey, all! I am brand new to Omega, although I’ve wanted one for a very long time. I am considering an older Railmaster. I love vintage. Can anyone take a look at these picutires and give me their opinions, ie quality, authenticity, etc? Any help would be appreciated!

Umm is that not the 2017 re-release?
I have no idea. I thought it was vintage. I found an article online about this model that said it was 1957. I’m completely new. Any help would be appreciated.

Im honestly more worried that it’s fake. But I have experience or education to spot those things. I do love it, though. Even if it’s new.

Read up on the 2017 Omega Trilogy Releases. The Railmaster is 38mm and a very nice reimagining of the 1957 original. If you don't yet know what you are looking at you are definitely not equipped to buy an original 1950s Railmaster without making big expensive mistakes. You'll be safer with the modern version which is a very nice piece.

Is it your opinion that this is a modern watch? Do you at least think it’s authentic? Good advice about buying collectibles. I buy vintage items in other genres and that’s very true. It gets complicated.

Assuming this is a modern model, which is totally fine, does it appear to be authentic?

Yes it is my opinion that this is the Trilogy Railmaster automatic from 2017 onwards. It looks genuine but you should of course ask for further pictures which will confirm this. If it is as I think then the box and papers might also be present. It came originally with a leather and fabric strap included. I don't think I've ever seen a fake one of these, but you should still exercise caution.

Thank you for the advice! I have already asked for more pictures, and I was hoping I would have gotten them before I posted this so I could include them but I’m still waiting.

There's one for sale here which you can use for comparison, or maybe it's an even better deal;

This one I’m looking at is asking less than 1500, no box or papers, I believe.

If someone’s selling a Railmaster for $1500 it’s fake

That was my initial thought.
You should have started with that.

Most likely you would have paid 1500 and received an Invicta.

I’m brand new to this. Was thinking maybe they didn’t know what they had. Wasn’t sure if this was a commonly faked model.

The chances of it being a genuine but massively underpriced sale are slim. It much more likely to be fake or a scam

I don’t know what kind of platform you are shopping on, but there are some bad people out there. Pretending to not know what you have, or saying that you need cash fast, are two of the oldest scams in the book. If you find yourself feeling greedy, you need to slow down and think twice.

It's a $5K watch all day every day. Don't let greed overcome your common sense.

If it’s to good to be true it’s probably not real and it if is it would be snapped up by collectors or resellers within minutes

Thanks for the advice, guys. I’ll let it slide and be safe.
