Hot damn man! So you need to be nominated for the noobie of the month. You didn’t dick around with eBay bottom feeding and just went for the gold.
And those sharp lugs are impressive. Not the usual melted rounded blobs we often see in a vintage watch.
eBay can be fun if you either don’t care about originality, or if you really know what you’re looking at and can spot the hidden gems. It took me months here to be able to know 60’s Seamaster’s and now I’m comfortable shopping eBay for good examples...but don’t ask me about the details of Speedy’s or SM300’s- haven’t gotten that far in my education yet.
I am not yet at a point where I am comfortable purchasing quality timepieces on eBay. In the meantime, OF is my “go-to”.
Well, if a Speedmaster was on your list- this just popped up. You would be hard pressed find a more expert or reputable seller. https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedmaster-145-022-69-do90-extract-and-serviced-5400.102990/
Both Omegas I was eye'ing and drooling over. Both great pick-ups! Welcome to the club... and honestly, if I had a ton of money, Id be buying most of the stuff in the For Sale section here... so much great stuff.
That is beautiful Rosenthal. Thanks for the link! There are several timepieces that I have my on eye on right now.
I would like to add that since joining OF, my attention to detail radar has become more refined. Though I do not post much on the forums, I am definitely busy reading.
Interesting that you say that. I have the one with black on it now. The new timepiece will have a band that looks similar to this...
