Hi think you are talking about the small size 120.
Should be another bracelet to for that ref. but I never get one so I could be wrong.

Yes the small sized one used to come with 5684 and 537 which is basically a thinner flat link with 5-6 stretch links each side which makes sense considering it's a diver

Regarding the above ad (thanks for posting): interesting that they would spec a leather strap on a watch that would be frequently used in water, as that material certainly wouldn't be the best choice.

back in the day it was an unspoken thing when a customer went to the watch store they were offered upgrades via after market products such as bracelet/straps/band ... in Omega's case ... one they would offer via in store sale only was the option for a BOR [beads of rice] bracelet this was an UPGRADE ....... and i am sure other style bracelets as a means to UPSALE ... of course the display cases would also be stocked with " SPIEDEL, JB Champion, and other after market bracelets/ straps " .... and the standard NATURAL RUBBER divers strap... these came in CURVED END and STRAIGHT END ........ depending on the watch case style ........ .... the mighty .... SWISS TROPIC MOD DEP divers strap ... and at some point the salesman would offer it to the customer ..... swiss tropic came in a few different styles ... the cross hatched divers most ppl know about ... some swiss tropic have exotic designs/patterns .... some came in RALLY style with different patterns

Yes, thanks. I understand that, but it doesn't explain why, as original equipment, the company would fit a diving-intended watch with a strap made of material that is hardly suited to that activity.

if i remember correctly another advert they used to promote this model was a watch suitable for activities in ... " TOWN, COUNTRY and SEA " ... basically a utilitarian version of it's big cousin the SM 300 [1960's model] which was a TOOL watch .... mean't that it could be worn in the city [thus the leather strap], out in the country side [again the leather strap] ... and of course water related activities, the watchs' depth rating was 400ft. [120m] it was suitable for pool swimming, surface swimming in the ocean .... and snorkeling ... the reason it was also nick named ... SKIN DIVER [NOT scuba diver] ... as the vintage ad posted in this thread ... and of course ... strap/band/bracelet ... upgrade would be offered to customer @ the store ... such as BOR or any other SS bracelet option [JB Champion bracelets] , and or WATER related activities [a swiss tropic mod dept.] ... and i would assume ... either a generic [came with aftermarket strap] and or OMEGA branded/stamped CLASP/BUCKLE

Oh man I love this Forum! Thank you @gemini4 you just saved me from a costly 166.027 mistake! Watch has basicly everything wrong you pointed out in your OP! No notches, wrong hands (albeit the seller has a set of original ones), white Date background, wrong bezel. Price is very cheap in today's market and I was about to run to the ATM because it is a local deal. That was close! Always good to check here first!

Cheers,

Max

Sounds like you just dodged a bullet!
I've seen plenty of good ones with a white date background so I think that is ok, although I stand to be corrected.

The watch in question:

I have to say that the seller was very friendly and responsive when I told him that I was backing out of the deal. Seems like he himself didn't know what is wrong with the watch.

A shame realy, as at least the dial, to my untrained 120' eye, seems to be in very nice original condition. Maybe even to nice, given the even creamy coloured tritium marker patina?

I'm looking for a white seconds hand for a Seamaster 120. The watch model number is 165.027 but the hands are the same as for the 166.027 and possibly the 135.027 & 136.027. If anyone has one spare or knows where I could pick one up please message me.

I would also be interested in an hour and minute hand with tritium lume. Also if anyone could let me know the Omega part numbers for these items please it may help me find them.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I will also post on the WTB area when I have reached 200 posts.

Thanks buddy. I did see the Watchco hands on ebay but the design looks different to mine. The Watchco ones have a much thinner lume area and it is probably Luminova. I haven't asked them yet if they could sell the seconds hand only but I'm based in Europe and their shipping prices are a bit steep!

Thanks Al that's very helpful.
Do you happen to know if Omega is showing stock of the seconds hand and whether it looks the same as the original white hand on the Seamaster 120.
