Sorry I meant to ask - the picture that you shared, is that of an actual seamaster 120?

Yes ... the 601 movement i posted is in a manual wind NO DATE case ref 135.027 OMEGA Seamaster 120

also .. added info if in case u might need it ... SS Bracelet ref# 1098 with 19MM end links ref# 547 ... is actual paired with the case range in the photo

The movement retaining ring is absolutely not easy to find. A few years ago I had one with a heavily damaged ring and several watchmakers said they couldn’t help. After scouring various sources for months I eventually called Swiss time services who thankfully had one.

Point is, you’ll likely need a full service from an Omega authorised watchmaker to get this piece.
This is good info. Once again the 120 seems to be an orphan.

I was about to say! Just when you think you've found one..
My watchmaker just confirmed the same about the difficulty for finding that ring.

For me it's a pass. Seller also has some other offers, for whom apparently it isn't an issue.

Because they didn’t bother to ask the keen eyes here 😉
These watches are fabulous but are seriously a minefield and factory support is nil with exception of the movement itself and the hands (which are white luminova now). Don’t be afraid to ask- it was wise you did. And as much as we all like a bargain, that ship has sailed on these.
I honestly think it’s harder to find a very clean all original SM120 than it is to find the same in an SM300.

Ok some new insights.. @sonicosa reached out to me, thinking that the movement retaining ring is actually there. It supposedly has the same pink gold color as the movement . I had removed the photos upon request of the seller, but here it is again (after his approval). What do you think?

So maybe those with "keene eyes" oughta be a little more careful next time.

But it's a sign of the times. First shoot, then ask.

Lange and Patek are out scouting for new watchmakers.

Those keene eyes should apply for the job.

Good news, no need to fanatically seek fake 120's, there's an easily available kit for it now

Thanks again for this info. Is there a way of finding out where ref# 1069 belonged to, i.e. do you have same picture for that bracelet? I've seen it paired with this reference a number of times, curious to know if this was an option as well.

Nice restoration video that just popped up in YouTube. Calibre 563 in a 166.027... is it correct or a Frankenstein?

Dear Forum, I would please need your help…
I have read all the comments on this thread and am searching for a Seamaster 120.
i have found the following and am in negotiation. Please tell me what you think !!

It has the 144 teeth on the bezel and the right font and size to my eyes. Also the case is original I think. The seconds hand is obviously not.

The owner says it has been kept in excellent condition still the bezel is almost to perfect.
What do you think? Am I missing the obvious ?
Thanks so much in advance!

the seconds sweep hand is either from a seamaster 300 or from a 1960's speedmaster , i have seen some 120's were watch makers have used these as a replacement ... minus more details like case ref number inside the case back, photo of the movement it, the watch seem ok

Watch look fine to me. Even has the bracelet which Is a big bonus (but I would want to verify size). Asking price at €2.35k isn’t bad actually considering what fake and cobbled ones have been going for. Obviously it will need a service so factor that into the cost as well.

Edit- endlinks aren’t omega factory. They are JB Champion. JBC made the bracelet for Omega, but it should have stamped factory endlinks

Edit-edit, the endlinks are actually totally wrong for the watch and look to have been fashioned to fit the bracelet- so subtract the value of the bracelet from the watch entirely- endlinks are not correct.
