First time poster to OF. This is a super helpful and informative thread, which I am only about two years late reading. Nonetheless, is it possible to replace a missing lume pip? If so, how does one do that?

Yes, bezel pearl replacements are available in luminova. Check with your watchmaker for the part. Tritium would be the period correct pearl, but to the best of my knowledge they are not available.

Not sure where they would get one, because this part is no longer available from Omega, so if they are replacing it they either have found a bunch of old ones, or are using something that isn't an Omega part...

Bezel is fake, earlier in the thread, I posted a guy on Etsy selling them.

I understand that - I wasn't commenting on any specific watch, only relaying that the claim that the pips are still available isn't really true...not genuine pips anyway.

I should have been more clear in my response. I suggested checking with your watchmaker since they often have parts in their bins that have accumulated over time. They may have an Omega brand or may have some other brand that would properly fit. It’s a personal choice important to you eyes to add one if it’s not an Omega OEM. In some instances in using a non Omega OEM, a bezel pearl may give the watch a more complete look and not devalue it while with other SM120 watch examples it may detract value.

Hi guys
Was wondering what you think About the watch below. Is it legit?
Unfortunately the seller did not post any Pictures of the movement. The Crown is signed Omega, but seems to be the wrong one (easy to replace?). Otherwhise the watch looks to be in nice conditions. As it will be my first Seamaster 120M, I want to avoid to buy a frankenstein or a fake watch.
Thanks for the advice.!

Dial, hands, bezel, case, case back, 1069 bracelet and end links all look genuine. The lume looks nice. Case is polished, but not excessive (top of lugs should appear brushed), bezel pearl is unfocused, but doesn't appear to have the tritium lume pip. Crown looks right except too big, but maybe it's the picture angle.

Great, thx for the imput.
Would it be easy to replace the Crown? (It's definitely one which is too big).
As well, do you think a Price aroun 1000 USD is appropriate for the conditin of the watch?

Not sure about the ease of crown replacement. Maybe others could answer that. 1000 USD is too cheap. Something is not right. You should ask for movement pictures and get side shots of the case. And Buy the Seller (check this person out carefully).

It's an auction. So I'm kind of trying to find out what would be an adequate price for the watch in this condition (having probably to replace the crown, and not seeing the movement). But the seller seems legit and as it is in the same Country (Switzerland) it would be quite easy to get to him if it is a fake.

If it sold on here with the “reassurance and safety” that that brings,I think it would sell for around 2000 (+/-) You can check the handful of similar references that sold this year.

I'm assuming the watch type is a 166.027 at 36mm diameter not including crown. The smaller diameter watch is at a lower price point, but I don't think this is one of those. Factor in the cost of service maintenance that is needed unless a receipt is provided.

I don't want to get specific to this watch, but recent price range asked (depending on condition) seems to be $1600 to $2500 (but there are a few outliers).
