CROWN is not correct, I don't trust the case back , mvmnt shud be cal 601 ........ Omega launched the Seamaster 120 in 1966 ...... and the ad says it's from 1962 ?

Good point that caseback is scribble. What does it mean when there is a 1 in between the omega symbol on the movement.

How about the movement, it looks like it says 513 instead of 613. Any clue why that would be?

Not a great photo, but it says 613...

thats the issue on Jack Wongs post the numbers don't match ... on the serial number dates it from
1973 ... watch was made in the 60's and she\oud have a 600 series ref mvmnt

Can anyone weight in on this, the watch in question has a serial # starting with 31 which is high for the model (thank you UWSearch and hmmmcamu). The omega website shows the 120 at 1966, which I assume was produce through the early 70s. The second photo shows serial #31 being produced in 1969, wouldn’t this work.

Please let me know if my line of thinking is off.

When I spoke with Jack, he seemed to be under the impression the paperwork was not for the watch in question. It was basically thrown in, so I think leaving the paperwork out of the evaluation will be less confusing.

What I am saying is, could this serial#31 on the movement 613 as seen from the pics, be original to the watch.

It is in question because it is high, however from the photos below on Omega’s website the 120 line seemed to be produced in 1970. The chart would validate that as serial #31 would put the watch around 1969-1970.

On a side note, everyone on the forum has been very accommodating with my questions and the fact that I high jacked this thread. Sorry

Omega Seamaster 120
SKIN DIVER Model# 6154
Case Ref.# 135.027
Cal. 601 manual wind
paired with KOMFIT SS bracelet [Astronaut] by JB Champion USA

Omega launched the Seamaster 120 in 1966 as a specialist model for scuba diving enthusiasts. Beneath the model reference inside the case back is the tiny coded mark of case maker Erwin Piquerez SA of St. Hubert, 2854 Bassecourt. The 600 series of hand wound movements, assigned the calibre numbers 600 to 613 [launched in 1960] were manufactured entirely in-house by Omega, with no use of out-sourced components, which makes them “real” Omega mechanisms.

Does anybody recall if there has been any mention/reference in these 14 pages of the 31mm Ladies version? Before I start the long trawl through...?!

Re the 31mm, any suggestions on approx price for an original piece needing a service? Got absolutely no idea on these, but fancy finding a nice one for Mrs Skipper, just that bit different to most of the more contemporary Omega ladies offerings.

This thread has been a one of the most useful tutorials of any kind I have read--thank you to all who contributed to it. I;ve been looking at 120s for a while, had a hard time sorting them out, and when I saw this one on the Bay it was easy to see what was wrong right away:

New dial, new bezel (with 10 instead of 12 notches per hour), and a too perfect caseback:

Hell of a pretty fake, even if the movement seems right. I guess it's all about your parameters--you can fool a lot of people with things like these, but it's no ruse if you are fooling yourself.

This one almost got me too, I told the seller he was selling fake items and he got very defensive.

This thread was very helpful, the memebers answered all of my many inquiries and I ended up with a gem.

Very help thread! Would someone be able to help me out with this one? First time buyer of a 120. I’m leaning toward it being a fake but I can’t tell because of how legitimate the movement looks. Thank you.

Old movement in fake case/bezel/dial. It's the exact same kit as was posted on December 15. Look at the dial tics

::facepalm1:: They are everywhere... How many people paid top dollar and walking around with fake parts 120's? It's going viral... I think I would buy only faded 120's from now on if I were buying. Be careful out there!

Seems like most are on a black crocodile strap.

Like this one on catawiki. For the first time in my life I've send a message to the auctioneer of catawiki to tell him about the fake parts. This was a couple of days ago. He did nothing and now it's on EUR 888,00 without auction costs. Poor buyer...
