as for the Second sweep hand .... I am not sure ... based on the link u shared ... i can only go by these VINTAGE ADVERTS .....where there other 120's with the second sweep hand mounted on the 120 in ur photos ... seems there are .... wether these were the correct second sweep hands that came with the 120's originally, I would go by the advert photos below ... now are these hands Omega ... probably .... could be replacements attached to some 120's when they were sent in for a service ...... perhaps the original second sweep hand was unavailable at the time some 120's were sent in, and these were used as a substitute .... and that is why u see some pieces with these second sweep hands .... ???? ... remember back in the day a watch maker was able to order parts from Omega directly for a watch
I wouldn't be surprised if the manufacturer reads this forum given the case notches so they will probably concentrate on perfecting the dial text next
All they really have to do to know these details is look at a real one, so I doubt "this forum" is really helping the scammers much...
Yes, you would have thought so Al but the earlier versions seem to have been made without the notches. Since the OP highlighted this discrepancy the newer versions now have notched cases. Of course it's probably just a coincidence ;-)
Hi all,
Forgive me for my ignorance, but after reading through 8 pages worth of valuable information on the Seamaster 120; one question remains unanswered: which references are okay to come with a date in black on a white background, and which ones should come with a white on black font? Looking at the ad posted above by @hmmmcamu, it was supposedly correct for both the manually and automatically wound models for a certain period of time?
Appreciate more input on this, thanks in advance!
Anyone has answer to this question? I’m curious to know as well. It seems to me that most of the people posted SM120 with black date on white background.
