No! I don't have a good solution for that. Thoughts? Make a little tray for it underneath?
I also like the idea of a wireless keyboard and mouse, when not in use you can just store them on top of your computer. Alternatively, you could build a small shelf or tray for them by the computer. It would be an intuitive place to keep them since you'll want to grab them anytime you power up the computer.

This has been a fun thread to read through. Your setup is much more ambitious than mine, I simply use an old drafting table I have from a previous life.

old drafting table
When our drafting office moved fully to CAD the company sold all of the tables and some were offered to us in a charity auction.
I missed out on one by $5, my mate got it. It was phenomenal quality and I think he paid about $120 for it.

All I got was one of these.

The dark work matt and the finish for the top are interesting choices...😉

Woaw. I am the most useless person when it comes to DIY work (I like to think because I never have had the opportunity!).

Half of the terminology you used, I have no clue what it is. But I went through all the pages. Incredible stuff. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

The attention to detail that has gone into this bench bodes well for your career as a watchmaker... Very cool!

Very nice. Beautiful. I think you did a great job with the woodworking part of it. Ive never fabbed anything in metal but goodness that does look fun. Some cool stuff done just with an angle grinder! Gives me ideas.

Mine is a portable US Army drafting table that belonged to a buddy's dad (for whatever reason he liberated it when he came home). When I went off to to college my buddy gave it to me because he had no use for it. You'll have to excuse the mess, it is also my work desk for my day job, and I am working on a pair of moccasins at the moment.

These wood serts were key. I dont ever want to have a stripped out fastener in my bench top.
This by itself scratches such a big brain itch. Love this level of attention to detail.

What a cool project.
