My $500 Heuer Carrera Valjoux 72 back from servicing

I received my Heuer back from servicing. It got a new crown and crystal. I think it looks decent enough to wear. I am still waiting on my blue rally strap so I put it on a regular strap just to see what it looks like on wrist! Couldn't find a replacement chapter ring or original crown. What do you all think? All in all I have $800 into this watch.

Very attractive, even with the plate wear. On a blue rally or even blue suede (I do love suede, it will look killer.

Looks good. I have been ghosting the TagHeur forums attempting to figure out what hands my V 72 rust bucket will need. I am pretty sure the remains are pre-carrera. There are not a lot of examples with a spiral scale on a black dial.

I am surprised at the price people are asking for parts on the Val 72. Fortunately I have a Val 23 that has a trashed dial an no case I could use for a donor movement provided any of the too far gone parts are one of the common ones.

Awesome for $800 - looks really good.

If the dial was poor I think I’d leave it as a Craparrera with poor dial and case. However, as the dial is fairly good I’d keep looking for somewhere to get the case replated.

I couldn't wear it like that and would definitely get it re-plated. I think the effort will be worth it in the result.

And keep looking for a proper crown, even if SS.....just have it plated when you do the case.

Keep us updated.

I chose a neutral color, but wanted suede, also.
