More filthy crap from the depths of eBay

I've said before that when it comes to a dress watch, it should be perfect. Tool watches are improved by scratches. Frankly, I wouldn't buy a scratched dress watch if I had the option of buying a good one. That said, the basics of this all look good and you say the price was right. So, give it to STS (I'm sure that's who you had in mind anyway) and let them work their magic. You might lose a little metal but they'll keep the right shape and few people would ever be able to tell the difference.

We鈥檙e on the same page @jimmyd13 馃憤

Had a chat with Tony at STS this afternoon... will be letting him work his magic on the case. 馃槑

As far as in understand from @mondodec excellent guide, they all have gold bezels.

And I used to have a grey dial/knurled bezel version... which I kinda regretted selling and have been looking at other c-cased Connies ever since!

I think I better stop looking at those photos before my wallet takes a hit it doesn't need.

It is a beautiful Constellation and I hope you manage to get the watch in a proper condition.

I have the same reference and cannot stop looking at the texture dial which changes so much when you turn the watch in the light. Mine has the Onyx filled indices which are very special as well in my view.

One remark: The crown does not seem to be right with your eBay find (its too round)

btw: is it really a white gold bezel? I do not see any removable bezel on mine. Seems to be one steel case 馃槙

You should not have sold it 馃え already the pictures make me want it...

The grey dial and the riffled bezel give it a very special touch!

Not sure on the crown... will be replaced (but retained) at service.

You can see one fitted in @mondodec guide though: http://omega-constellation-collecto...onstellation-c-shape-omegas-child-of.html?m=1

The bezel part next to the glass is a separate piece, and comes away from the case.

When you need to pay the bills, you need to pay the bills...

Great find! Pleased for you to have found it. Will be fun to see you feature it once it gets out of rehab.

C-case Constellations confound me. The styling is very much a product of its time and not especially attractive to me, yet I really want one to wear. I find myself staring at photos of them. The styling introduces a sense of d茅j脿 vu to me, a sort of Omega-ish d茅j脿 vu.

Was it Omega who originated the C-case?

So the question is... should the bezel have a sunburst brushed finish on top?

This watch hasn't been out of a drawer for 20 plus years, appears to be wearing a very early crown, all the other case finishes are there if a bit scratched up, the bezel is polished on top with scratches all over it - no sign of there ever having been any brushing, and it looks like no ones been inside it perhaps ever.

@mondodec guide says they all have brushing originally.... but... just not sure here.

If it's not a sports watch, it gets passed over by a lot of folks... 馃槈

Great find. The only question is how the hell did I miss that one. I've been chasing ebay listings for months looking for buried Omega treasure.
Next one is mine.馃槈

Here is the 168.017 I sold a while ago here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-constellation-168-017-cal-564-from-1968.51900/

I read the same as you re. the sunburst finish on the bezel, so sold this one as completely untouched, bar the polished bezel. To be honest, I've always had a feeling that some of these were without the sunburst finish, as I have seen others like ours that were perfectly untouched bar that little detail. I didn't want to state anything slightly controversial in my FS listing, hence the conservative wording... Serial number 26,378,889 for comparison purposes.

It's the knurled bezel that is white gold. On references with a plain bezel, it is steel...

Hmm... the plot thickens:

With the one on the left, i thought it was strange, that the bezel is all polished, while the case is brushed and does not look refinished. Not so much with the one on the right, as the whole case was refinished.

Here is the left one again, with more detail:

Note how yours, like mine, has marks on the bezel that would surely have been polished away had it been refinished.
