It does look a little big on you, @mikechc. I guess I'm lucky (?) that although my wrist is tiny, it's rather flat, so I can barely get away with these large watches.

I don’t care what watch it is, or what wrist it is, a watch always looks too big in a close up wrist shot. They are useless for an observer to judge whether or not a watch is a good fit for someone else.

Good point. There is something about the photos... that being said I have recently decided that 39mm is my ideal watch size... so I guess 44 is big...

In many ways the watch is supposed to wear big. It’s quite flashy and suits its size. That it’s lug to lug is quite short is a godsend.

my sweet spot is 40mm but I can wear this just fine and love the extra size for a change

Yep, no question that 44 mm is a big watch. But when I bought my original DSOTM I also tried the steel version of the same 9300 movement and the steel one just looked so much bigger, it was astounding. My wife would not believe me or the sales rep that the two watches were the exact same diameter. I couldn't wear one of the steel 9300s, but the dark ceramic does make it easily wearable for me...something to be said for optical illusions. Hey, I have it on today so here comes a gratuitous wrist shot, on which it will look too big 😉

BTW, I don't find it to be too thick either.
