The case is a rearranged replica of a very typical case design of the 1930s; with an octogonal twist added on the bezel.
here’s a gold Longines of that era (mine), the case design was quite widespread across brands, but mine is unusual because I’ve only seen a couple in gold having survived with that shape.

I really like it and I've seen the last few Merci watches come through. I've held off on buying one as I can only buy SO many. They do tend to show up on ebay at lower pricing, so if you don't get along with it, drop me a line. 😁

Feels pretty solid. Watch is well made. Movement is ok (about +30s/day), but I think that’s in spec for this movement
