Not sure if anyone is local, but one of his sisters just posted this on facebook.

"I want to thank all the friends and family that have responded and reached out to me about my brother Thomas Krueger’s passing last week. We will have visitation at the Schmidt and Bartlett Funeral Home in Mequon, WI on March 4th from 10-noon. I hope to see as many people as possible there to share stories and our grief. I am sorry to all his friends for the loss of such a good friend [IMG][IMG][IMG]
PM me with any questions or special things you want to share with me [IMG]
Also, please share in your special networks as I don’t have access to everybody. Thanks"

It would be great if we have a member or members who are local to that area who could at least share many of the tributes to Tom on this thread with his family. I think that it would have meant a lot to Tom to know that a community to which he belonged, and which valued him as a member, took the time to reach out to his family.

Very sad news to read. :(
I'm still relatively new to the OF community, but his contributions to the forum were in hundreds of threads that I've read, researched, and often gone back to reference again. It's members like him that keep amazing communities like this alive. My condolences to his family (I hope they are able to read the outpouring of comments from the other guys that knew him a little better)

I will wear my watchco SM300 on 3/4 in honor of Tom. Despite selling off most of his sport watch collection in favor of vintage dress watches, he couldn’t bring himself to selling his 300.

He posted it for sale here several years ago and kept having the inner monologue out loud in the sales post , selling-no, I can’t- I gotta sell it- what’s wrong with me! Can’t sell it retracted!

    It was hilarious.

I think this is a great idea. And I encourage everyone who has a watch or a strap that came from Tom to wear it on Saturday and post it to this thread so I can share it with his family.

My day started wearing Tom's Elgin 6S WWI conversion. He told me about his hunt for the parts are subsequent rebuild by his watchmaker Greg H. And then he didn't like it anymore. I love it and it will always remind of him.

Then, we went crystal shopping and Tom's.been trying to get me to wear my Calendar for 2 days now. He sure loved his and said he would never sell it, along with his Star dial Elgin, I guess he was right after all. But still, this strap and so many others are from him as well.

Much like this NOS Tessuflex that I threw on this 30s Breitling Chrono, as long as it worked, the era didn't have to always match.

What did you wear in honor of Tom today?

I have some seikos I bought off Tom but I am pretty sure this omega band was the first purchase I ever made on the forum. Tom actually reached out to me about it which started our year or years of banter which I always enjoyed. He also showed me it’s safe to buy here which I was wary of at that time.

Sincere condolences. Unfortunately we've never had contact, but like many others, reading his plentiful writings steered me firmly in a few horology decisions I've made. I will miss his contributions and overall pleasant mannerisms for sure.

Rest in peace, Tom. If nature teaches us anything, it is that there is no death, only transformation and renewal. This morning’s sunrise is for you.
