Mareoscope help

Hello
I recently acquired an interesting looking Mareoscope labelled as original with box and papers. I have 11 days left to open a dispute if it’s not authentic, and eberhard is on vacation until Jan 9.

i have 2 mareoscope champion models 31024, a black dial and a white dial. This third that I just picked up looked interesting and the seller seemed reputable, but I’m having second thoughts for three reasons:
1. I cannot find another example like this
2. The case is unbranded
3. The dial appears to be identical to the 31024 dial, but there’s more space outside the minute markers than on the normal 30124.

I am thinking this is most likely a transplanted movement and dial into a generic case, but I would like to make sure I haven’t missed anything. I found out about this model reading about it on omegaforums, so I figured this might be the place to find someone more knowledgeable than I.

thanks for any help!

Not my area of expertise, but I'd be stunned if that's correct. All the Eberhards like that which I've encountered have signed casebacks, plus that looks like a different tachy bezel than those I've seen on this model, to say nothing of the pushers which don't seem correct for the model, or the lack of a signed crown. Again, not an expert, but this one seems off (though I'd love to hear from an expert).

If the pushers are (only) the consequence of the unbranded case ?? 😕 Did E. ever offer unbranded cases???
Did you compare the serifs of the bezel to other E-bezels?

Again, not an expert—but for Mareographs, the comments stand: none I've seen have pushers shaped like that, none have an unsigned crown, nor did any come with unsigned cases or have tachy meters like that. Also I've not seen any with drilled lugs. This is only what I've seen—though, again, happy to hear from folks with more expertise.

It’s a little hard for me to know if they ever offered unbranded cases, but I haven’t seen any. I’m only aware of two mareoscope models - the champion and grand croiserie. Neither looked like this.

Both bezels are sans serif, but the fonts are decidedly different. Without looking too systematically, the 5, 6 and 7 are all obviously different.

Unfortunately, it seems like everyone is in agreement that my suspicion may be warranted. I’m going to wait another day or two, just in case an expert can weigh in conclusively, but it seems like this one may need to go back.

The case/bezel looks exactly like this Hamilton Lancaster

Spot on, I was just looking up Lancaster images to post when I saw you'd got there first. Different pushers but TBH the ones on the mareoscope look like they might not be a perfect fit for the case anyway.

Just an epilogue for those of you that helped me:
I contacted the seller and he believes the prior owner had a gold Mareoscope, scrapped the gold and sold him this franken. After a lot of talking with him, I don’t believe he was trying to scam me, I think he was duped. He agreed to refund me about 60% of the cost of the watch. I proposed this because I have a white dial Mareoscope in very nice shape already, and these movements aren’t exactly easy to find, so now I have a spare.

Thank you all for your generous help and sharp eyes
