路Been wanting to make my own seatbelt natos. Picked up some material from china and some hardware from the buckleguy. Turns out the hardware loops from the buckleguy were waaaay to tall and airy and doesnt hold a single layer of material well if at all. Got some hardware incoming from phenomenato to make some nice single layer ones. But in the meantime, I wanted to make use of the stuff I had so I went and made a dual layer, dual tone one to thicken it up.
I need to read up a bit more on making these. Need to figure out how to stabilize the hole. Does anyone have advice? Cant really burn it or seal it with a lighter as its too small and i risk burning the strap around it. I tried heating up a nail and sticking it through the hole thinking the heat would seal the edges but that didnt seem to work too well as the nail cooled off too fast.
Overall pretty easy to make except getting the stitching nice and neat is the hardest part. Turned out pretty nice if i have to say so myself. Got to trim the stitching a bit but otherwise Im loving it. Anyone have experience making natos?
I wished i had a black/orange PO to put this on.
stitching is a bit rough on the strap end but practice makes perfect? Did a double colored thread, not sure what you call it in sewing machines but when the machine threads down it threads black and when it pulls up it threads orange.
area where the watch rests is just 1 material thick. Didnt want to put too much pressure (if any) on the bars
